WA also made the surprise move to ditch batsman Will Bosisto from their list as Adam Voges demands more from his squad for his second season in charge as the head coach. The 25-year-old had been a rising star in WA ranks and frequent member of the CA XI development sides. He was part of the 2012-13 Shield winning side, and the 13-14 One-Day Cup champion team. McDermott forced his way back in through weight of performances in Premier Cricket and his return will help ease the loss of tireless veteran Luke Feldman, who has returned to the police force. The Bulls will be hoping for more from their batsmen on the fringes of the national team with Matthew Renshaw in particular looking to put a disappointing 2018-19 behind him. Chris Lynn – as in previous seasons – has declined a state contract to start the summer but will look to earn his way to an upgrade through weight of performances in the one-day cup. But it remains to be seen if Bailey will play Shield cricket or limit himself to the One-Day Cup while he is also set for another season with the Hobart Hurricanes. The Tigers have also lured towering WA quick Alex Bevilaqua over where he will renew ties with head coach Adam Griffith, the former WA bowling coach. Local players Alex Pysecroft and Sean Willis start this summer on full contracts after forcing their way into the side last season. South Australia Men
It's a rebuilding and rejuvenation era for South Australian cricket, and one that seems likely to be expedited given the rise of the likes of Travis Head, Alex Carey, Adam Zampa and Kane Richardson to national ranks. The return of Wes Agar from Victoria adds some bowling depth to a side that starts is pre-season With Dan Worrall sidelined with a back injury picked up in England. After dropping veterans Callum Ferguson and Tom Cooper for the latter stages of last season's Shield competition, both batsmen have retained the spot on the roster, and expectations will be high.
