Drop Te'o

Sorry Morkel, but that is bull****.

Unattached young guys (okay, Boyd shouldn't be there, but who has ever said he has a brain?) getting in a cab with an attractive girl.
What has the world come to!

The Stewart girl thing shows exactly why knee jerk reactions never work out well, and I ****ing hate the prick!

This is for another discussion, but we live in a society where the common sense has gone out the window. Yes, we need to remain vigilant, and yes, we need to protect the weaker elements (women and children in general), but let's also use restraint before tarnishing someone's name and reputation!

Recently, the police was called on a grandpa who took his 6 y/o granddaughter to the beach. Although they didn't expect it, it was an unusually warm day, so grandpa allowed the little girl to take her clothes off to go for a swim, given they didn't take bathers.
Within minutes, the cops were there, called by "concerned" citizens that he might be a paedophile. Seriously, does that look like the MO of a pervert?

What has society come to, that innocent people have to go through shame and accusation, just because there's a chance they might be guilty?

By the way, this is coming from a guy that believes in a more proactive behaviour of justice against people who haven't "broken the law", but are dangerously hovering above it, like stalkers, etc...
And it's also coming from a guy that will get seriously riled up and scream at the TV when watching SVU, and a scumbag looks like getting away with molesting a woman or a child... :blushing:

I 100% agree that society is becoming irrationally overprotective, and there is little in the way of common sense. But this isn't society, this isn't people's private lives, this is a very highly exposed industry, and an internationally exposed event that he's about to participate in. If it was a politician being questioned about taking bribes, and there's an election in a couple of days where one of his his political parties' fundamental policies was about integrity and ethics, would you be happy for him to continue in his role in the meantime? The game just celebrated Women In League round, call it bad timing, unlucky, whatever, but Ben has to suck it up and take his party hat off.

Can't agree with that, nothing stands before innocent until proven guilty in my eyes, especially in cases where all the appearances point towards him being the victim. No matter how you put it, dropping him off Origin at this point, would be nothing less than a "preventative punishment", as whatever damage that could come to the team, has already been done.

As to the politician, the same applies really, but it would very much depend on the merits of the accusation, where a judgement call could make things different.

that seems to be what some are suggesting though, that he should be stood down because hes not an essential part of the team - correct me if im wrong? if it was smith/slater/inglis they wouldnt want him dropped, but cause hes only a bench player theyre saying they shouldnt have chosen him/should drop him because of it.

i may have misread your "It's different, this is a star packed team. The Broncos weren't."?

I'm with AP on this one. I think if it was Cameron Smith everyone would be ok with him playing and not being stood down, it's only because it's Teo and he is a selfish mother f@#$2@# that most people don't really care for. Now Teo's character may also be the reason why people want him stood down because there's a good chance that he is guilty, whereas if it was Cameron Smith most people would believe him over the whore. At the end of the day it doesn't change the fact that it should be innocent until proven guilty. Would Cameron Smith have stood down if he was in the same situation, I don't think he would have.

Not until today did I find out that Te'o was some selfish shit bag.

Why? I don't care if he's an asshole. I don't care if he sucks a dick. I don't care what colour his hair is this week. He's a fucking football player.

I'm sorry but what are you basing your crap from?

"He is a selfish motherfucker" and "Now Teo's character may also be the reason why people want him stood down because there's a good chance that he is guilty"

You can't just publicly bring someones character into question like this.

Well the Police have asked the NRL to stop investigating Te'o while they are investigating him.

I can and I just did. I don't really know whether he's a selfish mother ********, you gotta stop taking me so seriously. My point still remains though, I doubt anyone would be calling for Cameron Smith to be stood down if he was in the same situation.

EDIT: Bypassing word filter

You're openly bringing the character of a guy who is under investigation into question and BHQ could be used in the court case if they felt the need (or it came that far). It's a public forum and what you say is open to anyone.. And stop bypassing the word filter, say **** and let the thing censor it.

If you don't know, then why bother saying that stuff? Saying your were 'joking' isn't much of an excuse.

I said it because I think he is a selfish mother EDIT, I have no idea whether or not he really is, do any of us really know what they are like?

Not to mention calling the girl a whore, I mean WTF

Also, you think the court would use our discussions on Toe's character in court? The frigging judge or jury will just laugh at them. I can just hear the judge "Some idiot called Teo a selfish mother EDIT: Bypassing word filter on a forum? That's evidence enough for me, well done guys, lets lock him up and throw away the key"

I heard on the radio this morning that QLD were training as if Boyd and Teo wouldn't be playing so I'm pretty sure he will be stood down and Boyd won't recover from his injury!

MAROONS star Ben Te'o was grilled by police for three hours today over assault claims before the NRL suspended their investigation into the matter.
The State of Origin forward left Maroons camp this morning, arriving at Ferny Grove police station at 8.30am and leaving shortly before noon.

He wasn't in camp, can't train like he is there if he isn't.
