First time since Game 2 1991 that the official Man of the Match went to a player in a losing side.

Was this one of the worst Man of the Match selections in Origin history? Was Jackson really the Blue's best and who should have won it for Queensland?

I can think of at least 5 players from Queensland who would have been more deserving.

I actually think they voted on this before the game ended and the blues were winning.

That was the old policy and they would normally name their MotM 5 minutes before full-time but I'm not sure if it's still around.

It does make a mockery of the record books.

Thurston, Gagai, McGuire, Smith and Napa all more worthy. Hell I don't even think Jackson was the best blue on the field.

That was their excuse for not giving Fifita the CC medal in the GF last year, that they name it 10 minutes from time. But that doesn't make any sense, going by that there's no way they could have named Thurston 10 minutes from time the year before. It's obviously pretty easy for them to change on a whim if they wanted to.

They did forget to include Gagai on the list of Queenslanders that made more meters than Jackson

They'd already used a black marker to write on the fake cheque.

I really don't understand why Jackson got it, he played well but he was not even close to the best. It's nothing new really there have been plenty of poor mom decisions over the years. The last 2 Clive Churchill medals were farcical and even the great Wally Lewis got a few man of the match awards in Origin that were dodgy. I can still remember Lockyer getting mom in that wc final where Australia lost by 14.

Who would you have given it to?

That was back when they would name the MOTM before full time.

Most of the people that voted wanted to change it, but they couldn't.

Gagai was robbed again, poor bloke has been best on field a number of times and never got the prize.

I thought for NSW that Dugan was their best. Jackson was good in the first half but he didn't really trouble the maroons in attack, his defence was brutal. Dugan really stepped up in attack and defence in the last 20 and did his best to get the blues across the line and a couple of times I'd thought he'd succeeded. If they had to give it to NSW it should have been him. What a stitch up.
