Bennett gives Thaiday the tap on the shoulder

Su'a will finally get a decent go at it thank god. He would have been the most at risk to move on which would have been an awful outcome to keep an unfit has been going.

We don't look that good for next year imo. Getting concerned.

What makes you think we don't look good for next year?

I think we're looking pretty good for next year.

1. Boyd
2. Oates
3. Roberts
4. Bird
5. Pearson
6. Milford
7. KNik
8. Blair
9. McCullough
10. Joffa
11. Sua
12. Gillett
13. McGuire

14. Marshall
15. Sims
16. TPJ
17. Glenn

I've as usual no doubt forgotten some others. What is wrong with that side even if Thaiday, Arrow, Fai and Kahu all leave?

Bear in mind, only Ese'ese, Moga, Hunt are definitely out the door.

We would be fucked in the goal kicking department

We would be fucked in the goal kicking department

I'm not so sure.

Milford looks to be improving based on what I've seen off the field. Marshall is also a handy goal kicker himself.

We are most of the time anyway... It is only since Parker retired and Kahu took over fulltime kicking that we have had a genuinely good kicker in the team...

Most of the time Broncos goal-kickers have been average at best...

Hopefully this crystallises Thaiday to go out with a bang but I fear he will be too busy telling jokes and cooking on the footy show to notice... Broncos legend and would be great to have at a piss up but needs to go gracefully, preferably at the end of this year so we can resign Arrow. Let him earn the rest of his contract and more off the field growing the game with juniors.

Arrow is gone.

Thaiday retiring at the end of the year wouldn't change that.

I'm a big fan of Arrows but TPJ is our future lock and or possibly Bird so I just don't see where he fits in. Unless he stays next season so Moose can fill the void up the front while TPJ works on his fitness and workload from the bench...

I get the feeling Thaiday will become a mercenary type thinking he's still relevant and good enough to play on.

Sammy has given plenty to the Broncs.... I hope he will want to have a proud and strong farewell to the club, pass on his passion and knowledge to the youngsters till he retires next year and have fun.... He can be a lazy bloody clown at times but Sam has pulled us out of the fire many times... I remember his first game and have enjoyed his character for years. Good luck mate I for one have loved every minute of your illustrious career ... Cheers.

I don't know what all the fuss is about. Thaiday must have had a chat with WB at some stage prior to WB saying he wasn't offering Thaiday a contract beyond 2018. I heard Thaiday say that retiring had been on his mind. Did anyone record WB talking about this ? I think I heard WB had told Badel and he had run with it but I hope the headlines weren't Badel's as they certainly were intended to be critical of WB.

Wouldn't be surprised if the way the announcement has come about it is a media stitch up. With sammy always intending on retiring, but wanted the media spotlight, he loves it.

What the announcement does, is put others on notice the Broncs are shopping. Perhaps those that aren't already in the system.

The media loves to rip in to Wayne.

Do you watch Monday Night with Matty Johns?

Last night they showed the press conference of our game, with Bennett saying Nathan Brown should stay, and they need to avoid losing good players. Matty said Bennett shouldn't have any opinion on the Knights, and Tallis went on about how we're losing Moga and Ese, "aren't they good players?" trying to make Bennett look silly.

It's absurd how much they hate a guy who never says anything negative publicly.
