As we get closer towards the Dally M's, the Rookie of the Year award is always one I look forward to. I like to hear about all of the rising stars of the game and following their progress.

There have been quite a few rookies this year, some shined and some were a bit inconsistent.

Who do you think has been the Rookie of the Year?

He's a shoo-in but second place would be interesting and I'd go Crichton.

Crichton isn't eligible as he made 8 appearances last season.

If you make more than 4 appearances in the previous season, or debut in 2015, you're not eligible.

He would have been my choice if he was. He has been outstanding for the Rabbitohs and arguably their most consistent player all season.

Other than Cotric, I'd give Edwards a special mention.

At the start of the year they were really struggling for yardage out of their own half. Moylan was shirking his responsibilities big time and Penrith's biggest strength in 2016 became it's biggest weakness. Enter Edwards and Mansour and Penrith are back to playing the brand of football they're renown for. I also thought Eisenhuth & Twal were much needed additions to the Tigers engine room and they played a big role in the Tigers solid end to the season.

As far as top prospects - Croft, J. Manu, B. Smith, Murray & Ponga are my picks for players who will stand out for years to come.

1. Ponga
2. Cotric
3. Manu
4. Scott
5. Montoya
6. Jacks
7. Croft
8. Kikau
9. Brailey
10. Boyle
11. Radley
12. Collins
13. Hipgrave

I can't do it, there are a ton of decent backs bu the forwards are just meh.

I was going to say Crichton for sure, but I couldn't even remember him playing before this year.

Sweet, we've got an unofficial Crichton fan club going.

I was there when he made his NYC debut for Souths. You know when kids are going to play first grade and in a well beaten side he was one of the best players on the field.

I hope his career isn't plagued by injury, so far he's had to deal with at least one serious injury since signing with Souths.

The way he plays, you just never know. Might get unlucky.

It's going to be a tall order for sure.

They've brought through some great players South Sydney. Angus Crichton, James Roberts, Josh Mansour, Nathan Peats, Dylan Walker, Alex Johnston, the Burgess twins, Cameron Murray, Apisai Koroisau, Adam Reynolds etc. have all come through their development pathways. We never hear the end of it about Penrith, but Souths have brought through a lot of quality players in their time.
