Australia vs India Discussion

Surely this is rock bottom.

Not at all.

I was half expecting CA to blink first and recall Smith, Warner and Bancroft.

Who knows... they could have even spun it as a 'gutsy' selection.

Sadly there's still a few nails to be driven into the coffin.

This article sort of sums up where CA is at. They really need a broom through the whole joint, stinks of corruption and favouritism on all levels.

Same thing happened to Faulkner, didn't it? "Rest up", then doesn't get picked.

Mitch Marsh must have some incriminating photos of someone important to keep getting picked

Rock bottom is losing at home to the Lankans. Thankfully, that won't happen. The Marsh boys will score plenty of runs ensuring their spots for the next five years.

This would really honestly be funny if it wasn’t true.

Luckily, the public and media are turning on the selectors and CA

Renshaw wasn't allowed to play, he was knocked out again in the last warm up game for the third time. He's played every Shield game and hasn't missed any games this season. How did he miss out of prep for our summer? He had five SS games.

Anyone remember the series against India back in like 2004 or 5 where Dravid and Laxman put on like a 300+ run partnership, and ended up on 700+ runs for the innings? That was more enjoyable because we still had a team that you knew could try to fight back (though I think we might have lost that series? I think we might have been missing Warne or McGrath).

Yep I was there, Steve Waugh's last Test.

7/705 dec and 2/211 dec.

It was a draw so series ended 1-1.

That is not the point of the article which I suspect you know anyway.

The article's point seems to be Renshaw was somehow hard done by- using two completely fabricated reasons.

I just called out those two reasons, he needs to learn to do his job or not write things.

So you are basically saying that you dont believe Renshaw is good enough, at tbis stage, to be given another chance at test level ?

What does he need to do that he jsnt already doing then ?

Harris sets a new Aussie record for this series! 79 runs!

Also another fantastic SMarsh innings.

Actually you appear to be the one fabricating.

Australia are cautiously monitoring Matthew Renshaw but remain hopeful he’s on track to feature in the first Test against Pakistan following his nasty head knock in the ongoing tour match in Dubai.
Renshaw was substituted out of the four-day clash against Pakistan A after copping a powerful blow to the helmet from point-blank range while fielding at short leg on Sunday.

"Matt Renshaw's injury has put a bit of a spanner in the works," Langer said.
"(He) is physically fine. The problem is he hasn't played much cricket.
"It's going to be a really instinct call. To weigh up what he's done in the past, he's obviously a very good young player."

So he was knocked out?
Langer says he was injured?

Right so what I said.

None of what you said is correct, and now your ego is once again rendering you unable to admit you were wrong. Langer said he was available for selection and overlooked him due to lack of time out in the middle, not because of any prior concussion.

Not at all, I am saying the author's reasons and obvious agenda to paint CA as some crazy old man picking on people led him to write emotive rubbish. The Maxwell argument has some merit but he should have just left Renshaw out of it. He would have played the Test in the UAE if he wasn't subbed out of the game a week before and knocked out again.

Why didn't he finish the warm up game just before the Test?

If he wasn't knocked out and subbed out.....he plays before the Test.

Any truth to the rumors Stoinis was told to focus on limited overs because MMarsh is basically assured ongoing squad selection?

These batsmen are deplorable.
