The great Seibold cleanout

Depends what your job is. Ian Stewart manages a $2b + a year budget, has to negotiate the political sphere at the highest levels in Queensland, has probably just as much media to deal with AND has 15,000 employees.

No NRL CEO does that...

That’s right including white.
I am not bagging his time in the QPS he was probably a capable officer just saying that his current job would be big step up from that on many levels.
I suspect he would tell you that himself.

Anybody read Cooks thoughts on his own game after being coached by Wayne Bennett? He seems to be crediting WB with a big improvement.

Wait, hang on, so your telling me that a player is crediting their current coach with improving their game? Woah, this must be the first time this has happened! I wonder if we will see more players follow suit now?

Well, there's a bit from Cook on the NRL site and he appears to say WB has raised his game. From everything I've read on here I was under the impression that WB doesn't actually teach but motivates. More like a man manager or something or other. Blowed if I know who to believe now, I mean the player is probably lying just to get along, right?

Hahahahaha.....

I could have sworn Damien cook became nsw and Australian hooker last year, and won the dally m hooker of the year, and the year before last year he was a bench hooker and in and out of the team.

Did Bennett and cook have phone contact prior to last year?

If you watched him play last year you would have seen him have numerous games equal or better then what he did last night. If someone interviewed me for a newspaper I am not going to credit my former boss, who my current boss hates. That'd be a bit stupid hahaha

Use your world renowned "non-bias" Point of view to objectively tell us who helped him

2017: bench hooker at 26 years of age with under 50 nrl games and lucky to make top 17

2018: new coach (seibold) , becomes 80 minute dally m hooker, NSW and Australian team mainstay with one of the best seasons by a hooker in recent memory...

2019: Bennett starts coaching him, maintains 2018 form

Don't know who helped him, just quoting him. You'd have to ask Cook. I assume you read the article too? Apparently he's had more try assists this year in 8 games than he had in all of last year and he reckons it's WBs doing. Don't shoot me, I'm just relaying what Cook's alleged to have said.

Cook is playing better this year by the way. I'm not saying it's on Bennett but he's gone to another level with his kicking and try assists and if he credits Bennett who are you to disagree?

Well, if it doesn't suit your presupposition...obviously don't mean you!

You are surely joking? You just gave the greatest example of confirmation bias I have ever seen on this forum. I gave you OBJECTIVE points to my argument, he DID turn into the australian and nsw hooker, playing 80 mins and won the dally m all in the year seibold coached him. You have floated an article where cook says he likes and credits his current boss-groundbreaking stuff! And used it as some type of confirmation to yourself that Bennett deserves just as much credit for cooks form as seibold does.

You didn't watch him last year? People were saying it's the best year they remember a dummy half having, the same era we have had the greatest dummy half of all time playing! You think he didn't play like that last year? You are kidding yourself! It's his current boss, would you say to your current boss "I credit my former boss for all my good work" when your current boss is known to be pissed off with your former one?

2017: not Australian, NSW hooker, not dally m hooker of the year, lucky to play 40 mins off the bench, even played fullback at the age of 26

2018: dally m hooker, Australian and nsw hooker, played 80 mins every game at hooker...

When did Bennett come into the picture again, 2018 off season did they have phone contact?

Look this is just fucking moronic.

Cook is playing even slightly better than last year with try assists and overall confidence being higher, this is most likely to Bennett as this is what he does. Clearly though the overall change in Cook's game came last year under Seibold, I don't even think that can be disputed.

What is ridiculous in all this is taking a cliched response from a player as some sort of evidence to a point or agenda. Coming on here saying "Player X credits current coach for improvement in game" is akin to crediting a coach for his game plan and man management because in a post match interview a player said "Full credit to the boys and we are just taking it one week at a time".

Perfectly said. Seems people with an agenda to confirm their own "non-bias" opinions will latch onto the slightest thing to show us they are "right".
It's funny watching these same people belittle other people's comments by saying they are looking at things with blinkers on though.. The irony is amazing to witness....

Cook is playing better than last year ainec. Whether that’s just a natural progression or Wayne actually can coach could be debated forever. I’ll probably just get confirmation from his superior stats and his quotes crediting Wayne though.

Seibold definitely has a positive effect on him last year as well though.

Nobody said he wasn’t really good last year. What I said, and you’ll notice this if you just read it properly, is that he’s playing better than he did last year. He already has the same amount of try assists and he’s improved his kicking game exponentionally. I also didn’t say it was because of Bennett, but if he says it you can’t really argue that it’s not the case. It’s simple really

Ye those stats over 9 games and a quote saying he likes his current boss are great evidence. I will just use his elevation from bench 40 mimte hooker at 26 years old, to an 80 minute hooker who won dally m hooker over the greatest hooker ever seen, and became the australian and nsw hooker as my evidence thanks. Theres only about 4 people, and they are all on this forum, that are making a debate about whether Wayne Bennett deserves just as muhh credit as seibold for cooks current status. Have fun debating...

And if you read my post you would see that I said, did you watch him last year? Do you not remember people saying it was the greatest year a hooker has had in recent memory? All in the same era that Cameron Smith plays. He had multiple games like he did last night last year, his role was just different. It's simple really...

But he’s better this year. Can’t wait for your response

Why are you so butt hurt about this?

Cook was good last year, he’s just better this year.
