We were cooked as soon as Dearden was done and Macca took over from Turpin.
Turpin making a case for another statue outside Suncorp. The refs attrociously favored the Titans in the ruck as well, like that felt like some one-sided officiating.

Kennar had a solid debut, but there are some things only Oates can do. Shibisaki needs to go a game without a knock on. The only way we were winning that game is if Milford had a superstar game.

And now fucking PENRITH are running through the Roosters. Seriously, the Origin schedule has to change.

Agreed.

The one glaring example was that fifth tackle play where Macca went back inside to Flegler, but that's just the Broncos system and they love that inside ball. The fact Macca played for Turpin for the first try dispells that conspiracy theory, the Broncos are just obsessed with playing down the left. Even when Turpin was the 9, Dearden rarely sees much football.

I don't think Macca was out to sabotage Turpin, I just think he's a boring hooker with no feel for the position.
How do you explain him catching the ball meant for Turpin 1st half?

Who else plays centre though if shibasaki has a spell? I guess there’s a case to put Fifita there but can he handle the quicker opposition?

If Turpin isn't re-signed by the end of this week, the senior decision makers at this club have rocks in their head.
Boyd need a genuine talking to. He needs to be asked whether or not he wants to be playing at this level anymore.
Macca surely has shown Seibs, and the rest of the coaching staff that he is now our 3rd in line hooker after Turpin and Seggy.
Isaako needs some time out of this team. Doesn't jump for the ball anymore (might be a good thing because his hands are shot) no confidence at all has been shown this year.
I feel for Dearden, but hopefully he will come back stronger.
Milford had a very, very average game. Its like he left the field when Dearden did. He really needed to step up and get this team around that park, but failed.
TPJ and Lodge weren't great, when we really needed them to be.
Carrigan and Fleggs below parr also.
I thought Haas was pretty decent, especially backing up from origin.
Hopefully this was just some off week, and we will be back bigger and better against the Eels, with Turpin back at 9, and SOS to make his club debut in the 7.

....doesnt it show you what Gillo, Oates, Seggy and Joffa mean to this team on days like this...

Maybe the Roberts caps pace money is looking us dead in the face (except for Joffa...he has already resigned which is wonderful)...!!

Like I said in the Game Day thread, the Broncos cannot handle adversity.

I tend to disagree. He finds a way to “slip” anytime he’s in a position where he’s required to prevent a try one-on-one. It has happened so many times from so many positions and angles that it can’t be as simple as his body letting him down. This time he realised he had no excuse for slipping as he was already facing the right way and so he just took a knee. If his own accounts are to be believed his body is as good as it’s ever been. Its embarrassing to watch. In my opinion he is absolutely dogging it. I was a massive Boyd defender until about mid last year. I can no longer do so.

As for having a bad attitude toward adversity, that is obviously a bit side effect of inexperience but I also lay a lot of the blame at the feet of Boyd. When a young player watches their captain giving up at every challenging moment what do you expect them to do. Boyd needs to go, give the captaincy to Glenn and Milford like the cowboys used to do with Scott and Thurston.

Well at least we can all sit back and at least take pleasure from the fact that we aren't playing as bad as the Cowboys or Tita......ns..........oh.....*sigh*

Just watched the replay of Roberts "beating" Boyd. Either his heart isn't in it, or his body/mind isn't up to. When you have a highlight reel of things like that and you're only halfway in a season, that is not acceptable for a fullback yet alone the captain of the greatest rugby league club this world will ever know.

All the QLD sides have been utter trash in general. By rights none of the three should play finals. It's just not good enough.

Not to spoil the magic, but the thread is made ahead of time and set to a timer.

No he's cooked.

Haas and Lodge were poor as well, but I can forgive a 19 year old forward getting beaten by a half. Darius losing his centre of balance just trying to turn was a horrible sign. I don't think he 'dogged' it, I just think he's past it.

Like I said in the Game Day thread, the Broncos cannot handle adversity. When everything is going their way, they look like world beaters. However, if the bounce of the ball, a few penalties and a few injuries go against them they fall into a hole. I feel for anyone who went out to Suncorp this afternoon because they just wasted your time and money.

Yes, it was shit. Worst $35 I spent all week. I’ve never seen a Broncos team with this much apathy, this slow and this lacking in heart. If it was just today you could make excuses for it. But this slop has been present for ages now.

Seibold must surely understand his cleaning out of the rot has only just begun?
