Locky and Corey: The Players We Respect The Most

Odd thing for me is that l feel Kahu falls into this category. Take away his fragility he always did what was asked of him and never complained. He got moved wherever we needed a hole plugged and did a job without a fuss. Whenever he was getting comfortable in a position he would get injured or moved.

I agree to an extent, in that he did help out where needed, the difference being (IMO) that unlike Plath, Berrigan, Staggs or Smith, he didn't do them well, he wasn't great in any position, just serviceable. The other guys were hard workers and also good at what they did.

Gillett is that guy for us, I think Jack Bird will be too if/when he can put a full season together.

Look 100% agree, l am just a sucker for the what if type scenario and believe he would have been a lot better if he wasn't so injury prone.

I liked his attitude and he seems to be "good people".

Totally agree, I felt bad for him because he had so many injuries early and then when he did get a bit of a run going he'd cop another injury like the broken jaw and his momentum would get stopped. Also felt bad that he finished just shy of 100 games for us, he deserved to hit that benchmark, but he wouldn't make my list of most respected players.

Of the current crop, I think Alex Glenn is the only one who fits that mantle, he's played all over the place and it's a rare thing for him not to be giving 110%.

I always liked Mark Hohn. He wasn't fashionable and didn't grab any headlines and he was one of very few Broncos who could walk down Queen St. and not be recognized. He was as tough as nails and always did the hard stuff and rarely missed a tackle. He was integral to those champion '92 and '93 sides.

Did you mean Spud Carroll or 'Cement' Gillespie ? Seems you've got a combo going there!
In origin Jed gave Harragon about 13 Kgs advantage but still managed to come out on top. There was one game when Harragon hit Jed with a cheap shot and he stood up to him. On this ocassion Jed copped a few from the bigger and longer reaching Harragon, but I remember the next series (or maybe the one after in 1995) Jed tackled Harragon and I swear it was the biggest hit I have ever seen to this day. I vaguely recall Spud Gillespie hitting Jed with an elbow and nothing was said that night or next day by the MRC. Nothing has changed since the super league wars, getting a fair go from the southerners is just not gonna happen.
