Taking a realist's angle here...
Look obviously this year we will be lucky to make the 8, I hope we do so it gives our young guns more experience in finals footy.

The way I see it though - as many have already stated... I think we have to bite the bullet with Macca. Unfortunately the game doesn't suit him at the moment and neither does our team. Solid player and has been great for us, but time to move on. We didn't get the bickies in 2015 and 2016 was probably our next shot with that team and we couldn't do it.

We have to create a new window, most likely while we have Milf but I think we are short a solid organizer and I don't think Boyd is the man.
We need an icer. A DCE or (dare I say it) current PEARCE is just what we need.
Esp. since it won't come form 9.

Anyhow Macca is not the answer and with his current contract situation....
I'd ask him if he wanted to go but if he DOESN'T then I reckon:
play the first 20, tackle your heart out - then off to bench as back up for any backs injury, MAYBE come on first 10 mins of 2nd half.
But really not an ideal situation~

Nope, you tell him he is surplus. Either pack your bags and continue to play NRL elsewhere or sit in reserves as a back up.

I am a 100% Boyd hater, can't wait until he is gone but he had a decent game, even with his 5m* forward pass on the 4th when it mattered. He actually did lead as a captain with his on field performance. But still I see no place for him in the team with these young fellas coming through, especially if siebold keeps Milford at FB. 2 more years? I don't think so.

Also Isaako, sorry but your goal kicking shouldnt keep you in the team.

He didn’t even kick lol.

When the camera panned to Macca on the bench, he didn't look overly happy he was there. Who knows, he might be considering other options if he keeps getting plenty of bench minutes.

Just on the Milford to fullback issue; I think he looks pretty good back there, especially bringing the ball back from kicks. However, I still haven't seen much support play from him around the ruck. He's still parking himself out the back waiting for his kick. We need to get a bit more adventurous and bring Milf into the game more. He needs to be sniffing around Haas, TPJ, Fifita for offloads and be hitting them at pace.

One thing with our attack is we have no movement off the ball. This was an issue even with Bennett. This one out crap just makes us complete dog meat for the defence. Man it was painful watching us coming off our line last night.

I don't blame Boyd for throwing that pass.

It would have very very likely resulted in a try if he got it right. There was a lot of space for Herbie and Staggs. If you have a try scoring opportunity, you take it regardless of what time it is in the game. Even Langer, Walters, Locky and any other half we've had in our history would have thrown a pass in that situation.

In the replay you could see turpin, staggs and farnworth on that side with a lot of space. If only Milford was there to link up with those players it was try time.

For all the potential superstar kids we have coming through, I’d like to give special mention to Flegler and Farnworth.

Flegler just gets it done. He’s aggressive and has something about him. It’s clear people have differing opinions on the Boyd pass, but we were going no where in that set and he and Segeyaro are the only reason we even got out of our own 40, let alone looked like having a chance to score.

His stats weren’t enormous last night (they have been better this year though), but last night he just did what needed to be done when it needed to be done. He also does it all very quickly. Quick PTB, pumps the legs and finds his front.

And Farnworth reminds of Hancock, before he started running sideways. Does everything at full speed. Takes tough carries and loves it. He also finds his front and keeps the momentum going. He’s not exactly small, but when he adds 5kg to his frame (which he will) and finds his groove / place in this team, he has massive potential.

He just looks to have a dynamic about him that screams excitement and I can’t wait to see what he’s got when he finally feels like he’s part of the team - if that makes sense.

I also agree with most on here, he is already in far better form than 2019 Isaako. I also think he’s in better form than Oates has been in his last few games as a Bronco.

Thought the same thing. That’s the moment a Bulldog official should have sat down beside him.

One thing Milford did last night that I think should be done more often was a blind side run from dummyhalf coming out of our own end. It was an easy 10-12 metre gain. Has it’s risks, but often it’s not expected from the defence and the quicker guys like Milford can make it work. Throw the dummy and scoot down the blind side.

Nah I’m blaming Boyd, he should have taken the tackle.

They had a try scoring opportunity. You don't take the tackle when you have the chance of winning the game. I can't think of a half in our history that would not have thrown the pass in that situation.

He made the right call, it's just the execution that was wrong. Shit happens. If he got it right, guess what? Broncos win.

It's absolute bullshit that people are blaming Boyd for trying to win the game for the side.

Good effort from the lads after halftime, but still frustrating to watch. I can't recall us spreading the ball the last 10 minutes and in GP it was just conservative one up hitting. Couldn't make any ground only reason we had field goal shots cause Kodi missed them.
Hope Seibs sees that Macca is not good enough and that Turps and Seggy are our hookers, we look so lifeless when he is there. Seggy added the spark we needed. I don't blame Seggy for taking the shot, he had plenty of time with no pressure he unfortunately had too much time.
Boyd once again needs to play centre if Seibs wants him in the team. He is not playing as a 6 and we just lose an attacking option. He can do his dummy half runs from centre too.
Oates back next week so out of Coates and Herbie I would keep the latter. He looks solid and more reliable in defence
Haas MOTM. How the fck Boyd got it is behind me.

That was fun. I enjoyed watching that game - who had money on golden point draw going in? Nobody, that's who.

Not everything came off, there was far too much 'toss it to Milf' going on but that looked like a team that cared. The effort was obvious and that's what I like to see. Boyd did well overall, Milf looks like a new player at fullback, jeez when he is right physically he will be up with the best fullbacks in the game, thank you Seibold!

Anyone else feel like Haas was Wayne's parting gift to the Broncos? I choose to see it that way and it gives it all a nice sense of closure. He's already close to the best and most consistent. I never expect an error watching him handle the ball, it's crazy.

I'm happy overall. Cut out the errors and sort the edge D out and we're looking at a few wins coming up.

It was an ugly game but if you remove Macca (or greatly reduce his game time) and have a better right edge (no Coates), we win that game quite comfortably.

No coincidence that we started playing with enthusiasm as soon as Seggy came on.
Coates is a talent but isn’t ready yet defensively. That side leaked all night as it did the week before.

A lot to be positive about though.

Haas, TPJ, Lodge were immense (dumb penalties aside).

Milford is starting to loom great at fullback and will only improve once he has some halves so he doesn’t have to play 3 spine positions at once.

If we move Turpin back to starting hooker, drop Macca, get more experienced right side backs and and two halves that only need to do the basics, we trouble any side.

With everyone fully fit we could have this line up which I think would’ve dominated today:

1. Milford
2. Oatea
3. Staggs
4. Bird
5. Farnworth
6. SoS
7. Dearden
8. Lodge
9. Turpin
10. Haas
11. Glenn
12. Gillett
13. Flegler

14. Seggy
15. Offa
16. Fafita
17. TPJ
Need a better option in the halves, 2 rookies who have played under 10 games between them.

That was the most consistently bad refs performance I have seen in a long time, it not a mention from the media. If that happened to the Storm or Roosters they would be baying for blood.
Was just about to post this. Normally those penalties even out but they were consistently "unlucky". I mean, 1 tackle later the exact thing the warriors didn't get penalised for we did (a 2 on 1 strips), obvious knock ons were allowed to play on to a try just to make sure, we got another strip call against us that wasn't that they let go the other way before as well saying it was our bad handling. There were 2 head highs that hit around the chest ffs. There were about 6 really obvious mistakes. There was a definite agenda and whoever the refs were last night when they ref us again (bet we will get them all the time now knowing the nrl) I will have trouble tipping us despite the form or opponent. The reffing was that obviously bad in my eyes

And Lodge and Fifita and TPJ and Ofa

I know it will not be popular but i am happy with the result. A few errors in key moments could of lead to our defeat but the boys put up a fight and just didn't want to get the L. The refs in my opinion made a few dud calls that put us on the back foot and we still didn't get defeated. Turning up when it mattered.

If i was a warriors fan i would be happy also. That game was fast and heavy. Both sides had players who made huge contributions while out on their feet. Neither side could put the other away in the end and thats footy sometimes. Take some lessons from it and move on.

I tend to agree with this.

Not losing a game most probably thought we would could be very motivating to this young group.

He also left Boyd and Macca though. Don't get too excited.

Man of the match boyd and club stalwart mcculough? :rofl

Jokes aside, I dont think Wayne was bullshitting when he gave our pack a massive wrap before he left. We have some of the best young talent in the game, which is why I've been so fucking ropable this year.
