He didn’t completely disappoint in the halves last time and it allows far superior hookers to get us over the advantage line. It definitely has merit.
Then when Dearden or SOS returns just punt him as an expensive back up player.
You mean he wasn't so dire he was costing us the game every time he touched the ball, which is our current requirement in the spine right now. We have become used to such dysfunctional mediocrity, anything that isn't atrocious now looks acceptable.
When Turpin came in and immediately lit the whole team on fire it showed how below par Macca is. Ten games in, it's still hard to objectively rate Turpin, other than to say he's an NRL standard hooker, maybe even one of the better ones. But he's probably only borderline at halfback.
Macca would be the worst halfback in the NRL by a very large margin. But if Seibold doesn't have the nuts to flick him then maybe you're right: he'd do the least damage at halfback.
