NEWS Milestone man Macca eyes life at Red Hill

Congrats Macca on the 250th, hope you hit a purple patch for the remainder of the season.
Same goes for Boyd, their experience is needed with the young crop of talent coming through.

Well done, Macca. You busted your ass for this club for years. If you were a better player you would be a fan favourite with your attitude and temperament. No one can question you in that regard. Unfortunately talent is the the only thing that seperates a good bloke from being either a Darren Lockyer or a Peter Wallace.

It's so fucking unfortunate. You are right, if he was more talented, he'd be an all time favourite and probably captain already.

Someone needs to refer Seibold to this forum so he can open his f'n eyes. I'm starting to regret the fact that they picked Seibold over Walters.

Now we just have to hope Seibs can do something with him. If he can't then nothing stops him being dropped.

You never know what can happen with a player. He may go up a noch and put out huge season next year. You never know.

the absolute last thing any coach should do is read a fan forum ... not only would it drive him insane, but if he actually did what people on here wanted, then it wouldn't be long before he was joining us in the stands.

do you really think Walters would have gone and dropped Macca ... Seibold is the most likely to drop Macca, he is the opposite of what he likes in a hooker. he is also a big fan of Turps, i doubt it will be long before Turps is our number one hooker, although he does need to get some halves back first. I predict by round 1 next year, Turpin will be our starting hooker.

FTR, Seibs had absolutely no choice in keeping Macca at the club, as their was an option in Maccas contract allowing him to remain. sure, Seibs can tell him he is free to look for another club, that he'll be on the bench or ISC if he stays, but ultimately the decision is Maccas.

Never seen a more bog average gypper reach 250 games. He stands as a monument to the devastating drought of quality hookers the club has had to deal with for so long

or Wayne Bennett's stubbornness ... we have had a couple decent hookers come through our ranks (Granville/Parcell), whether they would have reached the heights suggested by their hype who knows, but i doubt they would have been as average as Macca, if they stayed in our system

Granville signed with the Cows before Wayne ever came back to us... That one was on Griffin...

And still the WB blame drags on. If there's a way to link a failure, piece of bad luck, bad result, dodgy hamstring or somebody's poor form we'll have a poster from bhq doing the linking.

well tell us who is to blame for us continuing to have Macca ... Wayne Bennett was the coach and the club signs (or attempts to sign) the players he wants.

in this instance there is no one else to blame.

To clarify, he had a player option. The contract was signed years ago.

It’s sad that our two most experienced players are the ones we want least. If I had to choose one it would be Macca.

Keep him in first grade. He is great
If he has to stay in first grade please make it be with another club.

I'm now at the stage where I don't think his great clubman, great training and great attitude are enough to compensate for his slow plodding attack and ineffectual defence.

Maybe, just maybe the pressure on his spot will see his performances improve but I'm really not convinced.
