The Mole reports Isaako for Corey Allen swap imminent

Isn't Isaako from NSW before we signed him? Could this be all triggered by the fact his father is dying and he wants to move back to NSW? I know he is a kiwi, but if his family settled there then that could explain alot.

Allan has a much higher ceiling in my opinion, and is a very capable Fullback when on song, which would provide cover for Milf if ever required. That is not something I can say of Jamayne.
Corey's attitude problem is a big concern though. Isaako doesn't seem to have that problem, and has a great work ethic from everything I hear.

Tough choice, but I would definitely not break the bank for either player!

Isaako showed enough to warrant another chance but let not pretend, even last year his kicking was his biggest draw. We shouldn’t need our winger kicking for us, that’s embarrassing, and Staggs can kick goals.

Isaako was signed to a long term deal. 2022 I believe? If this deal is more about getting Isaako off our books then it makes sense. If Allen comes here on far less money and shorter deal, I would rather him in reserves than Isaako playing reserves on 400k for 5 years.

I'm hoping Isaako stays. He’s going through a tough time but his work ethic will enable him to succeed. When that happens my hope is that he’ll be wearing a Broncs jersey. My concern is that Seibs was responsible for getting young Allen to Redfern so it’s quite likely he may well want to bring him back.

Yeah this is a bad idea. Isaako has been terrible this year and been a massive letdown, but at least he has showed something in the past. Allen has done nothing, and looks like a classic journeyman nothing player in the making. Some club that has more desperation than brains like the Dogs or Sharks will pick him up.

If this is true (big if given the source) you'd think it was simply a numbers game. When fully fit, Bird, Staggs and Oates are must starts across the three-quarter line, and we've then got Coates, Farnworth and potentially Perese vying for the fourth spot. As much as I like him, Isaako hasn't done much this year, and even parts of last year, to cement his spot. If Allen is cheaper, on a shorter deal, and is seen to more adequately cover fullback, it makes a world of sense.

Very well put. Souths need Isaako for their top 17, we have plenty of competition for spots so Allen can come here and play reserves. This would seem to be another great salary cap move from the club, and is probably best for Isaako too.

This is an absolutely fucking horrible idea, no matter how low your expectations of Isaako are, I can guarantee you he's a better player than Allan.

I've watched Allan very closely this year every time he's played first grade, he's truly, truly one of the least impressive players I've ever watched. He's lazy, he doesn't get involved, he rarely takes a difficult run, he can't pass, he can't kick and he's relatively slow for a young outside back. He's also trash defensively and regularly makes poor decisions or doesn't get a hand on the opposition player, much like our very own Fullback.

Do NOT do this swap.
But the Sydney nrl journalists said we lost the greatest backline talent of our generation Hahaha... Souffs fans were bragging about him. Every junior game I saw of him he didn't want to go near the ball, very lazy.

I think isaako is far and away a better prospect with a better attitude... But the salary cap is a numbers game and if isaako is playing reserve grade (most likely with the potential Coates and Farnworth have with bird and Staggs in the centres) I think it's a very smart move. Allen can be our 6 or 7th drop outside back on near minimum wage.

I love isaakos attitude and talent but he's struggling and he's gotten overtaken by Coates and Farnworth already nearly, and perese sounds like he's dominating qld cup far more than issako did or could, so once dropped I don't see him getting near the 1st grade side again unfortunately. I don't want that much money sitting in reserve grade over 3 more years...

Poor Chris Garry seems to be the only guy with inside knowledge of the Broncos yet every other gutter trash "journalist" comes in sprouting shit that they came up with after looking at the team lists in the big league

actually, Chris Garry must be loving it ... makes him seem more credible

....seems Souths are now aware of Allen's shortcomings...no doubt a potential swap oft eh 2 sees Souths get the better player.

I must admit...just how much were we over the cap if this move is still viewed as a "salary dump" for cap purposes? I mean are we historically over the cap? Kinda hard to believe that's the case now...

I have full faith in Jamayne...he will grow into that contract and can potentially become our no1 winger if/when Oates moves into the second row...

I have been against moving Oates into the second row but I have to admit he really looked like a second rower in the last State of Origin game. Letting Sua go would make more sense too if Oates was to spend the next off season trying to transition again.

Well with Issako, Farnworth and Coates, Vudogo and Perese all probably vying for wing spots come 2020, moving Oates doesn't seem as crazy as it did just a couple of months ago.

I think Oates discussed this with Seibold at the beginning of the year. Just a hunch though, no source. He's probably ready now but he sure as shit wasn't when Griffin moved him.

We're too stacked in the middle and too skinny out wide for Oates to move.
