NEWS Boyd’s Brutally Honest Assessment of Hellish Season

Which of Boyd’s stats impressed you the most and how did they compare to other players in his position?

From https://www.nrl.com, just a sample size of the stats that matter.
Player (Games)TriesTry AssistsTackle BreaksLine BreaksAve. Run Metres
James Tedesco (15)10610516193.2
RTS (17)579713210.0
CNK (18)101777173.3
Kalyn Ponga (14)887212130.7
Jarome Hughes (16)78629132.5
Tom Trbojevic (7)573810197.6
Darius Boyd (18)26343103.5
Michael Gordon (11)31337100.6

Apart from try assists, I'd take the zippy 35yr old Mick Gordon over Boyd any day.

Tends to happen when the opposition gameplan is to kick it to him.
Five really good fullbacks above him teams are kicking too as well it seems.

Already answered! Funny, you can see the rationalization, the bias and agenda driven thinking process in Tom's post. Sees a good stat, tries to find a way to minimize it.

All 5 of them are above him in tackle breaks and linebreaks. Probably explains that.

If he were going half as good as you think he is he wouldn't have been moved from his preferred position.

Please remind me. I must have missed it.

I read somewhere on another forum (for supercoach) that Lodge is going to be captain next year. Is this fake news? I haven't read it anywhere else, but this bloke is a regular on the site. This would indicate that Boyd is on his way out, surely.

To be fair, a lot of those metres were not kick returns. A lot of darius' metres were dummy half runs on the 4th tackle (which i think he took with the intention that he could provide a quicker play the ball for the kicker).

Seems to do it more so when McCullough is at nine from memory not so much when turpin was starting.
