Excuses

Milford works at Fullback it's his natural position, only problem is he is a better half then every option we have there.

I got no answer because we can't put Boyd at Fullback he is useless and we don't exactly have anyone else that is suitable.

Our roster needs work, it's probably going to take Seibold more then next season to solve this and he really needs to offload someone like Boyd and Macca and then we can get a top shelf Spine player to replace them.

We resign Fifita and our Forwards are done long term, then all the focus has to be on fixing the spine.

Surely they have a plan for the spine, the whole point of stock piling the halves we had was for this reason. Get a spine and stick with it.

1 milf 6 sos 7 deardon 9 turpin go balls deep and let them build a combination next year,
milford is experienced enough to be getting the team where they need to be from fullback.

I would. He isnt a 6 at all
Neither is Macca a 7, but I keep seeing his name coming up as a candidate. Segy would be fine at 6 compared to the bumbling dildo who's there right now.

That assumes SoS and Dearden work together which we haven't seen yet.

To me it looks like an over reliance on young players.

Seggy would be garbage at 6. Doesnt have the motor to be anything other than a bench hooker as it is. Dont really know what Macca has anything to do with Seggy playing 6 anyway, the only time Macca is ever mentioned at 7 is when we have to restructure in a game due to injuries, nobody is touting him as a halfback for us at all, unless its because we have nothing else.

Macca's name has been coming up at 7 loads lately, and yes, it's apparently because we have nothing else.

I'm in no way putting up Segy as a candidate for a long term 6. But he has one thing going for him: good luck guessing what's going to happen when he receives the ball. Compare that to Macca: he'll gently lob it to the bloke beside him just in time to to get creamed.

Meanwhile Boyd avoids touching the football in case he gets germs from it.

Macca is far more steady in the halves than Seggy would be. Neither are anything more than a stop gap half. I still havent seen a single poster bringing up Macca to play in the halves unless its because of our injuries. When they are all fit, Macca wouldnt even be considered.

A

Is Darius?

Thats irrelevant though really. He is playing there because the coach thinks he is the best fit for the job. I'd agree he isnt a half.

How the **** is "steady" a desirable superlative to describe a half? His name is coming up at half all the time, because like you say, we have loads of injuries.

This isnt a comparison, but whats Cronk if he isnt a steady, organising half who just does his job. In any team, you need a blend. We won a premiership with a steady half in Perry. Sometimes you just need a player who is a cog in the machine to let others perform. Nothing wrong with just being steady in the right setup.

If we had a ton of injuries and no halfbacks available, Macca would offer you a steady option until we get troops back. Look at our current options. Dargan is out of favour. Turpin is there now and is part of a right side thats getting destroyed in defence anytime they are put under pressure. If it was me picking now, it would be Dargan and Turpin at 6 as i feel we need one genuine half, but Turps is a complete liability at 7 right now.

Macca has made a career out of being steady, but are we really gonna compare him to Cronk?

Thats why i said i wasnt comparing them, just making the point sometimes a steady player can be very effective.
