Wait..

I just realised Fonua-Blake isn't in the nominations for Prop of the year... Wtf? He was incredible this year, noticeably better than Taukeiaho & Vaughan.

Taukeiaho - 20 games, 5 tries, 33 tackle breaks, 9 offloads, 12.0 hit-ups, 146.4 running metres, 90.3% tackle efficiency

Vaughan - 23 games, 2 tries, 18 tackle breaks, 20 offloads, 13.3 hit-ups, 141.4 running metres, 91.0% tackle efficiency

Fonua-Blake - 22 games, 5 tries, 76 tackle breaks, 33 offloads, 13.0 hit-ups, 163.3 running metres, 92.3% tackle efficiency

I'm convinced I'm the only person who actually watches every game, it's not even like they're comparatively close, AFB was simply better.

Dally M Player of the Year: James Tedesco
Rookie of the Year: Payne Haas
Captain of the Year: Daly Cherry-Evans
Coach of the Year: Ricky Stuart
Female Player of the Year: (No idea, never watched a single minute)

Best Fullback: James Tedesco
Best Winger: Ken Maumalo
Best Centre: Latrell Mitchell
Best Five-Eighth: Cody Walker
Best Halfback: Mitchell Moses
Best Prop: Payne Haas
Best Hooker: Cameron Smith
Best Second Row: John Bateman
Best Lock: Cameron Murray
Best Interchange: Braden Hamlin-Uele

Most of these seem pretty straight forward to me, the only two I'd be willing to change are Braden Hamlin-Uele to Brandon Smith for Interchange player of the year; I'd also be willing to accept Josh Jackson as Captain of the year, despite all the memes, he played really well this year and lead from the front during that winning streak the Bulldogs went on, underrated player & leader.

No Darius?

He should be nominated for captain of the year, it’s been well-documented how inspiring and confidence filling he is despite his view of it being just a game.

and thus I am reminded why these awards are a complete joke.

From the sounds of it, we need to focus less on the Dally Ms and focus more on the Unbreakables.

@Unbreakable are those your picks regardless of the nominations? Or would some of the omissions come into the reckoning?

If it wasn't for Payne Haas and our NRLW team, we could be forgiven for just writing the Dally M's off this year.

I thought he was comfortably in the top 3 props this year. I picked him as prop of the year, mostly because I didn't think they'd give Haas 2 awards.

Any player suspended for two separate offences in any one season immediately becomes ineligible for the Dally M Medal and Team of the Year.

Well there you go.

I wonder if Sivo's shoulder charge in the final cost him? He was suspended earlier in the year for his hit on Jahrome Hughes during the Magic Round.

I think it'd be those guys regardless, Maumalo overall was better than Sivo for me this year, and I think Haas was simply too good to pass up for prop of the year, AFB would've been a very close 2nd though.

he’s got as much chance of winning it from outside the 5 as he did if he was in... Payne has it sewn up

If that were the case then I don't think he would have been eligible for Rookie of the Year. Radley was ineligible for Rookie of the Year in 2018 for being suspended twice.

I'm pretty sure only the suspensions during the regular season counts.

That's a fair point on Radley, I thought rookie of the year may have been exempt.

I'll stick with my first theory, he got Ferguson'd.

What on earth is this crap

Payne Haas in the lead at the moment to win Prop of the Year.
