Broncos Player Movement and Rumours 2020

Hell yeah. Scored two tries on debut and we never saw him play for the Broncos again. Would love to see him make a comeback.

He has his own PT business which is very successful, and he was putting a fair bit of time and effort into that. Now might be the right time for him to try again. He is very much a right sided player though so i'm not sure if we are just looking at him as backup.

Hey @Smokin' Joe do you think we will be signing a halfback or will we back Dearden to develop in the NRL next year?

Does anyone else get the sickening feeling that there isn’t any big signings coming over this off season and that we are going to basically field the same team ?

BRINGING THE THREAD BACK ON TOPIC.......

If we miss out on making a play for Brandon Smith because of Boyd and McC, I may just throw in the towel. I just cannot deal with the frustration....

We aren't going to be missing out on Brandon Smith because of Boyd and McCullough. We will be missing out on him because he wants to stay at the Storm under Cameron Smith.

I reckon at some point they will need to make a decision between him and Harry Grant because both are capable of being 80 minute hookers.

It’s almost certain Boyd and mcC will be running out come round 1. Both are stubborn and believe they still have good years ahead of them and worst of all, no other club wants them. It’s really whether seibold has to balls to drop them to qcup but ultimately they are still getting paid.

The Warriors and Bulldogs were both after McCullough. He doesn't want to leave and he has a contract so he doesn't have to leave. Not his fault the backup hooker proved himself to be more trouble than he was worth. Boyd is looking very likely to start in Q Cup. Depends on whether Oates re-signs I think.

For years all I heard on here was that if Macca went to the market, he’d get inundated with the offers. Reality, not so much.

Drop them both. Leave them in q cup and banish them from first grade training. They will leave or they won’t **** up our first grade side..

For years I was told that he would get no offers...

He is a 30 year old hooker on the way down, he isnt going to get many offers. He also hasnt been on the open market in all his time at Brisbane so we will never know if he would or not.

that was probably said before his 2019 season, he was pretty bad this year like 90% of the squad

He’s been pretty serviceable at best for 10 years. His form didn’t change this year lol.

I think that last sentence would be a pretty unpopular opinion. I know he’s been maligned for a while but he was hella bad this year.

Clearly didn’t get any or at least any that was near his salary.

The Macca apologists need to accept that no one wants their boy.

Actually he wasn’t, not compared to previous years. If anything, he looked better this year than in previous years at times. It is just that the problem is he has been and never will be any better than he is now.

Warriors set to lure David Fifita to New Zealand with $1m deal
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck believes the impact of rising star David Fifita at the Warriors would be great enough for the club to win their first NRL premiership.
The Sunday Telegraph can reveal the Warriors are the latest club to enter the race for the Brisbane Broncos teenager, with the New Zealand franchise preparing a $1-million-per-season offer for the damaging forward,

The massive deal would deliver Fifita the richest contract in Warriors history.

The Warriors face stiff opposition, with Fifita being chased by a string of clubs including the Rabbitohs, Roosters, Bulldogs and, of course, his current club, the Broncos.

Tuivasa-Sheck, who knows what it’s like to sign a blue-chip contract, having switched from the Roosters to the Warriors in 2016 on a multimillion-dollar deal, said Fifita would be worth every cent.

“I believe so,’’ Tuivasa-Sheck said.

“We’re very close to being a (premiership) contender, but Fifita is one of those players that can take you that extra step and fill the ultimate package for a club.

“He’s a perfect fit for every club. He’s got the speed, he’s got the power.

“He’s a prop, too, but he’s got skill. He’d be a massive win for us if we’re able to land him.

“But if we do or if we don’t, you’ve just got to go with what we’ve got here and I’m confident we can do something special in the 2020 season.’’

The 2018 Dally M Medal champion said that if he wasn’t busy becoming a father and in the midst of a Test campaign with the Kiwis, he would’ve picked up the phone to the 19-year-old Junior Kangaroos star.

“I don’t know him personally, but I would love to try and give him a chat,’’ the Warriors skipper said.

“I’ve seen the media and I got excited myself.

“I asked the coaches, how is this guy going? And he said, you know there’s a process, you can’t just go and talk to him until November 1.

“You’ve just got to let it play it out and play to the rules.’’

One player Tuivasa-Sheck is certain will be at his club next season is Penrith’s promising hooker Wayde Egan.

Egan has been let go by Penrith to forge his career across the Tasman.

“I’ve heard big raps about him as a hooker, so getting someone like that is always special,’’ Tuivasa-Sheck said.

“I’m looking forward to getting into some work with Wayde and seeing what we can produce.

“We started last year working out who our key middles are and that’s really important, finding our alpha-male and someone who is going to lead the pack.’’
