Experience and youth are highlights in the Brisbane Broncos' NRL Women's team announced today for the Nines tournament in Perth.

The Broncos today release a 16-player squad for the event that starts in the Western Australian capital a week from Friday.

Eleven players that have won an NRL Grand Final with the Broncos will be led out onto the field by two-time premiership captain Ali Brigginshaw.

That group will include the experience of Chelsea Baker, Rona Peters, Amber Hall, Annette Brander and Meg Ward.

Add 2020 Grand Final winners Tarryn Aiken, Chelsea Lenarduzzi, Raecene McGregor, Julia Robinson and Tamika Upton, and the Broncos have a solid base to build off.

Jessika Elliston, who was part of last year's NRLW squad, has also been named.

There is some new talent in the team too, with Jayme Fressard, Hayley Maddick, Tanika Marshall and Tahlulah Tillett to play their first games in a Broncos' jersey.

The Broncos will open their tournament by playing 2020 NRLW Grand Final opponents the Dragons next Friday.

They will then face the Warriors and Roosters on Saturday, with the top two teams to progress to the tournament final.

NRLW 2019 premiership-winning coach Kelvin Wright will again guide the team.

Plenty of touch girls with Maddick there who played for the Broncos touch team. Along with Ali who always dominates regardless of how much room she has, they should all carve up.

While Aiken and Upton haven’t shied away from contact in NRLW, I hope we aren’t physically dominated too badly as there’s less bodies in defence

Notable changes from the regular team, assuming everyone is back for another year, are Amber Pilley, and Lavinia Gould and Millie Boyle (both could have Reds duties)

Also Fressard given a spot to allow her to make up for 2018

Just read Boyle is injured with a bulging disc. Won’t play for the Reds this season. Origin highly unlikely and wouldn’t count on her playing NRLW either depending on the severity

Marshall will win hearts and minds with footwork.

Say it ain't so about Millie.

This was one of my Rugby League related videos of last year.

MILLIE!!!!

MILLIE!!!!

I love how shy she is to the Dragons girls like two seconds prior

Also another recent article about her bushfire fundraising efforts say no surgery, just rest and rehab after a big year over two codes. Big fan of Millie, shame she chose to be a dirty blue.

Tillett out with knee injury, she hurt it yesterday at training.

Looks like Pilley has done her ACL. Needs scans to confirm
