I can't believe Noone has mentioned Roberts punching Oates in the ribs!!! Can someone with some tech ability please post the slow-mo of the tackle that led to Oates rib injury. And watch Roberts smash his fist in right at the spot Oates was hiding afterwards. That **** is a fucking dog.

I got a feeling we are really going to miss croft's direction out there. Dearden will do a job, and Milford is dangerous but neither has shown the leadership (up until now anyway for Dearden) that croft has.
On the other hand, our forwards filled the breach in that game by providing opportunities for our backs on the line. It was great to Haas drift across the line drawing defenders only to pass.
My main concern is our sets will finish with a predictable bomb and a half-hearted chase from our players, thanks to indecisiveness and a lack of direction.
I hope to be proven wrong, the worry lingers.

1. Isaako - Another good game in attack but kicking radar was off. More importantly, he was caught out of position a number of times in defense, particularly at one almost crucial moment late in the game. 6
2. Oates - Was quiet but not really his fault when he is getting no ball whatsoever in attacking plays. Went looking for work and made some big runs with no noticeable errors. Will be out a week or three after a painful looking inure. 7
3. Staggs - Epic game, he can play anywhere and his ability to bounce off and through defenders and come out quicker and balanced the other side is phenomenal. He is Berrigan v2.0 as you can put him anywhere and he’ll smash it. 10
4. Boyd - He’s doing business job defensively and looks for work in crabbing it up field but why does he never pass it to Oates? 6
5. Arthars - Looked good in attack but was caught out rushing up or misreading in defense a number of times allowing the Rabbits space. Lucky he is quick enough to make up for some bad play reads. 6
6. Milford - I thought he did really well all things considered. Looked electric early and then tried to take over when Croft went off. He isn’t an organising half as the last few seasons have shown but did the role mostly well. 8
7. Croft - Hard to score. He looked good again but night ended prematurely with he shoulder injury and likely will be out a few weeks. 3
8. Flegler - This was a great game. He did everything well. But hard, ran hard and has amazing footwork. He actually reminds me of Steve Price. Excellent game. 9
9. Turpin - The team looks so much better with him at hooker. They look slick, they look organised and they look intimidating. That penalised tackle was pretty soft but he needs to build up to playing 80 ASAP as this team can’t afford the Macca minutes. 7
10. Haas - What else can be said? We are privileged to be watching the future greatest prop of all time in the early stages of his career. He is the complete player and then some but still so young. 9
11. Fifita - Fairly quiet in Attack but lethal in defense in this game. He was hammering everything that came his way and even in attack, he was really good, it’s just we’re so used to seeing highlight reel stuff from him every game. 7
12. Hopoate - He surprises us all I think. He made some poor decisions and one or two led to tries but I want to give a shout out to the quick pass for Stagg’s third. That showed real skill and awareness. Impressive for his second game in FG. 7
13. Carrigan - Born leader. What an outstanding game. This was Arrow-like at his best it was that good. He ran hard, cleaned up everything and smashed everything in his vicinity. First one on kick chases too. He has arrived. 9.5

14. Farnworth - How exciting is this kid! He is amazing under the high ball, is athletic and quick and smart. That flick for Staggs’ third was beautiful. He has a long career ahead of him. 7
15. Macca - Total mixed bag from him. Broke momentum for Souths late first half comeback and just looked in slow motion compared to the rest of the team. He has no place in this side at full strength. He got hooked but then came back and pulled out a couple of crucial last ditch tackles that were excellent. 5
16. Kennedy - Mixed bag from him as well. I actually feel sorry for him and not because he finished the game looking like a comic book super villain but because he is quite a serviceable bench prop. He is actually better than average but given how freakishly good Haas, Flegs and Carrigan were, he just looks sub-par. He isn’t though and aside from the dumb penalties, he ran well and hit hard, good bench game. 6
17. Bullemor - Did he okay? I think he got like one set and was off. Hard to judge. 3

Gotta get flegs signed long term before he plays too many more games yeeessshhhhh dude has some footwork on him for a big man! He’ll be a star soon enough.
Absolutely , Flegler, Hass ,Fifita, Carrigon ,TP
Wow. I really wasn't expecting a win especially when Croft came off injured and McCullough coming on. I honestly thought we'd put up a fight, but we'd lose in the last 10-15 minutes.

Really really impressive performance. Our forwards were hungry and aggressive. We hit hard and kept bending the line. We hunted the Souths pack. We played as a unit, as a team.

Milf stepped up once Croft came off, well done.

I'm most impressed with our attitude. I'm really impressed by that. We looked like we truly wanted to play, to be there, to win. Carrigan is such a wonderful wonderful player. Absolutely captain and leader material.

The negatives? Crofts injury and McCullough has GOT TO GO. Please Seibs, pull the trigger and make it happen.

That's a spot on summary Dee, that's what I saw as well. McCullough's simple error ,shows exactly how simple mistakes, kill momentum and invariably leak points . Unfortunately for him, I think he's been superseded by younger bigger better players . This could be a really good forward pack for all the reasons you've stated , plenty of grunt with attitude and they look particularly dangerous when they offload .

Wayne’s lost his aura and the locker room

Souths are in transition to Bennettball, we are in transition out of Bennettball, our biggest problem is we haven't had any consistency of the same team on the field each week.

Wayne didn't do anything last year he just adopted a decent squad, picked the players in their best positions and let them carry out what they learnt under Seibs.

Liking what I'm seeing from this side. Some enterprise built off an awesome pack and youth who believe. Glenn will need to be good to hold his spot.
It's only 2 games in but AS gets full marks right now. I'll put my hand up for losing faith in him but I'd really love to hear from @broncsgoat .

I said we looked good last week and predicted a win last night 👍🏽

If you want me to give seibs credit for having a team perform as it should, fine.

Doesn’t take away from last years abomination

Rhys Kennedy needs to **** off out of first grade. Surely we have a better option.

I didn't think we had any bad players tonight. Our worst player would have a rating of 'solid'. I thought Oates was quite okay making good metres and chipping in. Boyd was very good in a defensive sense especially when we needed an experienced operative. Our forwards were excellent and Hoppa is a pleasant surprise with a real sting to his defence.

Carrigan is a natural leader and might end up solo soon! Very pleased.

Oh, where are you @Morepudding
Time to give Darbs a rap.
I think if you go back and have a look at Cody Walker's try you'll find Boyd was made to look so slow in reading the play and even slower to reacting to it. Saying he was 'very good' was, I think, a wee bit too generous. Otherwise, he did have a better than average game overall.

Loving the revitalised Milf, its almost 2015 Milf. Hopefully Croft isn't out for too long.
One more thing that I would love to see from Milf is he following the every move of Fifita and Haas. There was a couple of times last night where Fifita got through or had an arm open but no one was there. Milf should be told just to follow those two every time they get the ball.
It could be the most lethal combo in the comp and one we have for 5+ years.
Anyone watch Fifita on ch9 in the post match interview? He looked like a super happy kid.
I am confident he isn't going anywhere.

I can't beleive you guys are taking this so well. I turned off the TV after Croft got injured. Glad to read we won and sounds like our depleted team played with real heart. But **** me, if Croft plays the full game last night we win by 20 plus. Broncos are are cursed.

Oh well.. Dearden gets his chance next week I'd imagine.

Isaako seems to have developed a habit on the kick return of raising is upper body as he is about to make contact. This lifts his centre of gravity enough for him to be easily held and all momentum stopped. I don’t recall him doing this consistently last year, but he needs to realise he has a decent torso and get down a bit to at least try and bust through. So good to see another team effort across the park from the guys. No doubt Carrigan is showing the guys the way with his effort and commitment.

How much do sua and Roberts suck? I hate seeing ex players who don't seem bitter and like fuckwits not do well. Really breaks my heart..

How good has the recruitment been the last year though. There's not one player that has proved the coaching and recruitment team wrong and we have picked up a lot of bargain buys along the way. Even croft was a steal. So refreshing after years of over paid duds that didnt want to play for the jersey

Fingers crossed we should be right next week its only titans, If our forwards step up again, Dearden fills in should get the job done. Im nervous for the week after against panthers at there home.

Glenn and Joffa should be back next week as well. Praying to god that news comes out that scans are good and its only 3 weeks on the sideline for croft.

We do

But they’re all injured
Yep, but even still.

He's rubbish. He's big. That's seemingly his only asset.
Rubbish lateral movement, too slow getting off tackles and he doesn't even use his size to dent the line. He's the smooth peanut butter of forwards - a poor imitation.
