Sack Seibold Now!

Which is not a hard cap - you get penalised a bit.
But because we are on the stock market and have an existing coach we would now have to pay off, it would hurt us in more ways then one, Broncos need a rich owner to buy News Corp out and take us off the ASX so we can run at our potential.

We could never outbid the Roosters.
That depends on a lot of factors though, the club itself doesnt make much profit. It all relies on uncle Nick. His net worth and property etc is all depressed due to the way the market is heading. Would he drop several additional million to retain Robbo? Who knows, worth bloodying the knuckles a bit to find out :P

I actually disagree.

Siebold didn't sign Milford or Boyd.
Bennett let Mcquire go before Seibold was there.

We have been insanely unlucky with injury.

In 2018 we lost convincingly to the dragons in week one of the finals, yet everyone smashed Seibold for getting smoked by the Eels in 2019.

I think people need to lay off him till it is truly his roster, and we don't have millions of dollars in the sidelines.
Bennett didn't let McGuire go

Hi Mrs Seibold, welcome to BHQ, we are honoured to have you visit.

Bennett was the coach at the time, so the call would have been his.

although Seibs may have been consulted
Pretty sure he was consulted, and Bennett was on his bike already. So if seibold wanted to keep him he could have, but chose not to.

Whilst I don't think I'm entirely with you in saying this isn't Seibold's squad yet, I do to an extent agree that he's been very unlucky with injuries. He's also definitely been hamstrung by some pretty awful contracts handed out to our highest paid players that were in place long before he got here and unfortunately won't be going away until probably after 2021 at the earliest.

Brodie Croft at the 11th hour in a plea deal with Melbourne was hardly a marquee signing, so it remains to really be seen what he could do with some funds freed up and the ability to properly go to market - and there is a LOT of money freed up for whoever is Coachign us after 2021. I'd say the Broncos job will be a pretty good place to be for whoever is the Coach at that point.

The point about Bennett is spot on though. The club was thrashed by the Dragons in the finals in 2018 and thrashed by Melbourne in the finals in 2017, Seibold was just the third instalment in that sorry act in 2019. The club was treading water with Bennett and by and large it hard stopped going forward.

That doesn't mean I think Seibold is the answer and I accept that we're churning up worse results more often now than we did under Bennett, but I still maintain we made the right call to move on at the time, we just missed the point of it all in not replacing him with the best in the business in Bellamy.

Siebold takes responsibility for Milfords form and admits the coaching staff have not picked up on the new rules.

But it's seems like this blood letting of the roster was on the cards regardless of who came into coaching.

Would Bennett have been able to oversee releasing of a number of players?
Likely Roberts and Sua stay and Maguire probably goes still anyway, but would he have been able to make the call on Kodi, Macca, Kahu and co... our cap is in a mess even with all the players that have been let go so anyone that would've stayed would have cost us one of the juniors

Would Bellamy want to come in and oversee a changeover like we have seen and potentially tarnish his legacy??

Would Kevvie have been able to make the hard call on letting players go??

Would Madge have been happy to let all these players go and start with a baby roster??
He was looking to rebuild his brand after being sacked by Souths, but it sounds like the admin are having a pretty heavy say in the turnover of the roster that we are seeing... I'd imagine Madge would've wanted to retain some of the senior talent to have experience available, but may not have had the choice.

I think the only coach that would be capable of overseeing the kind of roster turnover that occurred and bring through the juniors as a force in the NRL would have been Robertson, but he's just not available

I think Seibold may have been a little naive in regards to the job ahead, but he was provided with an opportunity to set this team up for long term gains provided he was happy to do it with a young squad.

They tried to get Belly and blew it by bragging to the media before he agreed to terms.

People who want Seibold gone immediately, who do you plan on replacing him with?
Nashy: one of the other forum members perhaps, me, a coach from the ISC, someone who has Flanagan email address, Griffin until the end of the year, a solid piece of spotted gum, my mum. Options galore.

The first thing I would have done as coach this week was walk into the meeting room with the players, told them to hand me their phones and say to them don’t you dare read the media this week.

Then I would have acknowledged the elephant in the room (Milford) and then said to everyone, let’s have a quick heart-to-heart and ask them two questions:

1. Why are you playing league?
2. Why are you playing league at THIS club?

I would then have shown them highlights from the GF winning sides. I would say to them, look let’s be honest, we are t even close to that but that doesn’t matter now. For today, let’s just go out a train for a few hours and let’s just have some fun, play like we did when we first picked up a football.

And I would have had a group lunch and put them in groups: forwards, spine, left side and right side and I would say, which one of you is going to be the leader? Which one of you wants to be responsible for your squad this week?

Any high paid player who doesn’t put his hand up is out and the most enthusiastic kids are in and then you talk to the team on the second day of the week about ownership and accountability. And you say it starts from the top and outwardly say you haven’t been going that well but that changes now. You the. Do some bonding activities.

On the third day you walk in with a massive smile on your face in a Broncos jersey and you Zoom into that kid in hospital who lives and breathes the Broncos and you get him to cry about how much this side’s recent performances are killing him and when you stop the video, you sit in silence and allow the players to take that in and you wait until your leaders step in and say something. You are ok with the silence. The. You disperse for an hour or so and come back and do some training.

The next day you come in and you get intense and you say to the players every time you drop the ball or miss a tackle today, you think of that kid in hospital and you apologise. Every time you drop a ball or miss a tackle you pay $100 into the swear jar.

The next day you discuss with everyone how to blend fun with intensity and you go out on the training paddock and you do it.

There coach, just do it and see what happens.

Seibold really needs to get in line if he wants to join the queue of people taking the blame for Milford failing to do his job week in and week out for about the last 2 years now.
Just to confirm, Milford isn’t in that queue though, right?

Last I heard it was the groundskeepers fault for letting the field get too heavy underfoot.
