Herbie Farnworth Re-Signs With Broncos
broncos.com.au
Thursday 30th July, 2020

Exciting speedster Herbie Farnworth has committed to the Brisbane Broncos until at least the end of the 2022 season.

In a major boost for the Club, the talented 20-year-old outside back has penned a two-year extension for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

Farnworth, who had a childhood soccer scholarship with Manchester United before moving to Australia to pursue his dream of playing for the Broncos, made his NRL debut last year in the Round 16 upset win over the Sharks in Sydney.

Also a goalkicker, Farnworth has now played 12 games on the wing and in the centres, and shapes as a long-term member of the Broncos backline into the future.

Broncos Coach Anthony Seibold said: “Herbie’s re-signing is great for the club, he has a really strong work ethic and a lot of potential.

“His journey from the UK to Australia is a terrific story and he has shown a lot of resilience and perseverance over a number of years to create the opportunity he has at the Broncos.

“Herbie has also shown fantastic commitment to us when there was high levels of interest from other clubs, and he should be applauded for that loyalty.”

Who wants to bet both years a player options?

Also, from the story:

"Farnworth, who had a childhood soccer scholarship with Manchester United before moving to Australia to pursue his dream of playing for the Broncos, made his NRL debut last year in the Round 16 upset win over the Sharks in Sydney. "

How has this club been not expected to win for over a year? Man, we've been outsiders for over a year, sucks where this club is heading (backwards).

Great signing, he will improve he showed that over his two years in ISC, the skills he developed there will be why he will be success at NRL. Just have to keep him on the wing and let him bring the same skills across. It won't be long before he's finishing off tries and making bad ball meters.

Just have to keep him on the wing

Mind passing that message along to pies?

A person who has never watched Rugby League before could have watched our game last week and told you that Herbie looks far more comfortable and impactful on the wing than at centre.

I suppose I'll wait until kick off.. Maybe Arthars will be a late inclusion at left centre and Herbie will push to the wing.

reckon i can name 1 or 2 wingers who would have scored that first overturned try against the Storm...

Just saying, kids got a ways to go yet; standard of finishing of the top NRL wingers is something else.

Also, how much training does Coates do catching cross field bombs under pressure? Its arguably his best weapon right now but his conversion rate must be below 20%

The other 80% he is either dropping it, knocking it on, throwing a pary & hope pass to no-one

That first overturned try was actually a high difficult chance, and he did extremely well. Was actually unlucky to not score it

Assume 200 or something like that a season.

Not to be mean but he is a nothing player and easily replaceable.

Hopefully the broncos sack siebold soon so he doesn’t trash his career.
