Watching the police officer's bodycam. How is that not entrapment? I like to think when you decided to become an officer of the law, you had service and good intentions in mind...

Jesus, that's plainly ridiculous! Guy was asleep and someone pulls his earlobe repeatedly. How could anyone of sound mind consider he assaulted police?

That's flat out not acceptable. How many people have the ***** had charged and convicted on absolute bullshit like that. Everyone with a badge should hang their heads in shame when they see this sort of bullshit.

Not even shown in the footage: After they got him up apparently they tazed him, pepper sprayed him and punched him a few times while he was on the ground.

Look at the state he's in, how on earth could 3 officers not control a blind drunk man with handcuffs on?

So this. Were it not for the footage the police officers word would have been accepted. There must be thousands upon thousands of people, just in Australia who have been railroaded like this, in the past.

Why not just leave him? Were he aboriginal they may have. He was hardly likely to get in trouble in that position.

Last question, when two of the three were fuzzbumper powerheads.

What?

Not trying to provoke anything, just legitimately don’t know what you mean by this.

Recently I was emailed the transcript of an interview with an ex-policeman from WA where he explicitly states that they are taught by senior officers to do this kind of shit to Indigenous people within the city limits of Perth. They mostly don’t have the capacity to fight the charges and end up with fines they can’t pay. Inevitably they finish up doing time for unpaid fines. The poor suckers don’t even have to be drunk to get railroaded like this. It’s a fucken sport for the cops.

It's not uncommon for police to turn a blind eye to aboriginal people sleeping in public areas. In most bigger cities they also have a dedicated person(s) to deal with such an event.

I have my doubts about this. Most police would rather turn a blind eye because the hassle involved can snowball into a fight for survival on their side of things. WA may be different to QLD though.

This is all news to me, please expand further.

Don't paint all cops with the same brush, that's whats happening in the USA right now and look at the shit fight that's going on over there.
Most cops are decent folks, but of course, just like any profession, you will find the bad apples.

Being a cop would be a tough, thankless prick of a job, and i am certain that they have to deal with aggressive violent drunks all the damn time.
Not excusing what these cops in particular did, they should be held accountable, but there is some people in this thread going full blown snowflake on Aussie cops in here and that's just horseshit.
These guys are the first and last line of defense against the scum of society and without them, we would be fucked.

Preach brother. Seriously though, that is spot on. Not all cops are bad, just a few bad eggs. We should be thankful for what they do, coming from someone who has been on the wrong side of the law.
