SATIRE The official "**** Cummins" thread

I just didn't want to give anyone the impression that I keep these stats handy.

EDIT: I say that, yet I have a Word Document here with every result and penalty count. 😆 As of Round 9 2019 Brisbane had won 26 penalty counts under Cummins out of 52 matches. 6 times the penalty counts were even.

Plus Rugby League Project is a must have resource for any fan.

Cummins' record since 2010
23/44 = 52.3%

but WHEN were the penalties given? It's all well and good to award 4 or 5 penalties when there's 15 to go and the Broncos are 20 points behind.

Penrith were also given a penalty out of trouble for holding down in the ruck which as far as I am aware, is a 6 again offence. There was also another time that was clear double knock on no advantage, our ball and he claims it wasn't a penrith knock on, so play on....

We get the rough end from all refs but this wanker takes the cake.
I had the volume down for the holding down penalty. I thought I must've missed something. I was screaming out, "it's a set restart ****, why are you letting them kick".

100% this... ive been involved in data collection and statistics through research a fair bit and statistics can paint whatever picture you want them too.

The fact "penalty broncos" has completly vanished tells us more then anything the bs calls we are getting...

Tony Archer - 42 Games - 45.2%
Grant Atkins - 31 Games - 45.2%
Matt Checchin - 52 Games - 48.1%
Matt Noyen - 14 Games - 42.9%
Henry Perenara - 16 Games - 43.8%

I thought Cheatchin was the worst so there ya go.

Cummins just has this smug cuntish face that’s immensely punchable

I think the Panthers knocked on in the PTB on that occasion, supposedly caused by ruck interference, so they couldn't call 6 again.

By the way, two more things:

I wondered if Penrith leaving the mark early in defence might have been the NRL are just being lenient with (or oblivious to, now that there is one ref), but the Sharks Dogs game had the ref constantly telling both teams that they were leaving early and calling them to stay back. So, just certain teams are allowed to do it.

Also, this rubbish in the scrums, where pretty much every defensive team breaks early or the wide defenders jump early on scrums, knowing that they can snuff out any attack before it starts and they only give away one extra tackle via 6-again. Needs to be addressed quick and made a proper penalty to stamp it out.

Not to mention holding down forever right before half time and near full time if you're even a single point ahead because what disadvantage is a 6 again when there isn't enough time for a full set anyway? It basically makes winning the game impossible.

Bullshit rule that should be sin-binned or sent off or even more, rubbed out for a week or two.

It's amazing how this bloke still had a job as a referee, there are 2 howlers that come to mind when thinking of Ben Cummins and I mean absolutely mind boggling howlers

Braith Anasta getting king hit and the team that punched him receiving the penalty

Matt Gillett getting 10 in the bin for being offside despite chasing an opposition player 40 metres down the field (he wasn't back the 10, apparently)

If you've got a child who is suffering from some sort of psychological deficiency, Ben Cummins is living proof that every bloke can get a job somewhere

Some of the ones I picked up from watching the game just now.

- Penalty for a tackle in the air from Burton on Niu not called
- Dropped ball from Capewell called as a penalty... apparently for "too slow"... i.e. drops it from a loose carry so ref comes up with a BS call to give the favourite the ball back... if it was actually too slow why wasn't he waving his arm for a six again
- Knock on from Edwards not called and instead calls play on after Niu is stripped... called as a falcon, but his hands were near the ball as well (no replay). Why is the ref not calling it out as soon as it happens instead of waiting until after Niu is stripped. We were likely playing recklessly thinking we have an advantage on
- Riki getting driven 10m backwards on his goal line despite multiple calls of held... should've been a six again for continuing to go on with it
- Calls an obstruction against Tesi for running behind static players, even though it happens all the time and goes unpunished... led to the 2pt field goal... Edwards ran behind his own player late in the game on a kick return
- Stops the play when broncos are on the attack with a quick ptb, because Edwards is laying down... isn't required to go off for a HIA and was 10m behind the ptb (i.e. not at risk of getting in the way of play)
- Incorrect play the ball from Kikau with 4mins left that would've given us some better field position
- High shot on Croft with 2mins to go not called... despite weak high shots being called all night against us

The uncalled tackle in the air from Burton on Niu had me raging... even though I was watching a game that finished 2 days earlier and knew the result to... because it was such an obvious call and would've given us a reprieve from the onslaught of early six agains against us.

rugby league needs a bit of tuning in this sense.

the defence should only be able to go at the start of the ptb. The defenders are slowing the ptb down but wanting to jump early.

The defensive team cant have it both ways and should either continually ping the series offenders for jumping early or call held / release faster so the defensive team can go as soon as they are ready.
