They’ve swapped out the XXXX for waters. I wonder if there’s anything more to that.

A while ago they adopted a more professional approach by swapping out the eskys full of beer in the sheds after the game, for sports drinks and water, in order to focus on recovery.

Maybe they've gone back to that approach

How good is it having a side who are genuinely playing for each other? So refreshing.

I was pretty keen on the Jensen signing when I saw his QCUP numbers last season, but he's even exceeded my expectations, he has to keep starting, he's been huge for us.

Here are his numbers this season when playing 30 or more minutes -

R5 - 36 minutes - 11 runs, 110 metres, 19 tackles (0 missed)
R6 - 46 minutes - 15 runs, 164 metres, 25 tackles (2 missed)
R8 - 40 minutes - 18 runs, 167 metres, 26 tackles (1 missed)
R9 - 47 minutes - 12 runs, 123 metres, 25 tackles (2 missed)
R10 - 36 minutes - 17 runs, 189 metres, 18 tackles (0 missed)
Yeah I was pleased when we signed Jensen. He deserves his starting spot.

I feel like that there’s not enough praise for Gamble. While he can’t kick and isn’t the most flashiest 6 out there, he does offer something missing in this side - Aggro. He gets under the skin of those he tackles and just pisses off opposition players is great.

It may not be physical but psychologically getting into their heads does affect the way players react to the game. If players are trying to get at him, it lets the rest of the team work their magic.
Also helps that he is one of the biggest 6’s out there meaning he’s a pain to tackle and has been great for us defensively.
It’s no coincidence that the turnaround in our performances came when these things occurred all at once -
1. TMM replaces tesi
2. Turpin omitted
3. Gamble selected at 6

“manly just didn’t show up for this game”
“South’s just didn’t show up tonight”
“Sharks didn’t
hop off the bus tonight”

Hmmmm I sense a theme….
When do the talking heads start to credit the boys for bashing the crap out of the opposition?

Funny that teams hadn't not shown up against us for the last few years, and then all of a sudden...

So Oates is 5th on the all-time Broncos try list, and he's still only 27 for another 5 months.
He would probably be closer to first had it not been for some lean years preventing his opportunities. So glad to see big Oatesy enjoying his football. Genuinely one of my favourite players. He needs to stay a Bronco for life

I honestly dont think he has been a steal. He was overpayed at the start ( getting huge money before he even played a game ). Then he was probably underpayed a little now i think he's on more than he's worth. The more i think about it i think in the scheme of things even $750k is too much. He makes a lot of metres, and he is a freak of an athlete, but i still dont think he has enough of a physical impact compared to the real top class props. For me, he's nowhere near Webcke or Civoniciva.
Had a chat to Petero last night. What an absolute gentleman and even though he was there doing the corporate rounds, still has plenty of time for the average punter.

What a champion he is.

He's just adorable isn't he 😂 If he signs elsewhere I will hate him more than Coates though.

Surely not though, the place must be a buzz to be around, I can't see why anyone would want to leave now.
Yeah he comes across as a genuinely nice young bloke with plenty of talent and also grounded.

However, his efforts on the microphone rival early years Oates and Gillett.

Jonus Pearson had a similar interview on debut haha.

Probably to accommodate Payne so that he isn't uncomfortably standing in the corner trying to avoid flying drops of alcohol, Matrix style.

But I like to think it's because Kevvie and Langer has told them It's borderline criminal to waste beer.
Aussie cricket team and Patty Cummins set the precedent .
No spraying champers while Usman was in the huddle .

Ummm… sorry. Martin suffered a hip flexor strain and had to come off. He’s in doubt for next week.
I stand corrected. Wasn't apparent at the time. Still good coaching to put Cobbo there to get some time at 1. What you got against the coaching anyway??? :rofl

Mate, I was at the ground.

He gets hurt in the tackle, trainer tends to him, he then limps out to the wing, clearly says something to Selwyn and Selwyn moves to fullback.

I am one of Kevvie's most outspoken advocates but it was literally a case of TMM walking over to Selwyn and Selwyn going to fullback, all in the space of a play.
yep like I said to @theshed it wasn't apparent at the time and the commentators said he went of for no reason. All good👍

Credit where credit is due, I thought Gamble had one of his best games for us last night. Heaps of effort plays and the strip + Oates inside ball try were both things of beauty.

Really starting to play the second fiddle role a lot better, not trying to overplay his hand, just chime in at the appropriate time - I think it shows he is more than capable as a 6 and I would love for him to be there for the rest of the year.

I don't love the bloke, but there is something about him - when he's on the field, the Broncos lift.
