CROSS FORUM NRL 2022 Round 16 Discussion

Will someone remind Radley that two chins Cleary has a bung shoulder. Get him tackled Ffs.

Well that half had the softest binning and stupidest penalty I've seen in a long time. Never knew you could go back multiple plays to bin someone.

Cleary made a tackle while the Roosters were coming off their line and the player legit fishwiggled 3 or 4 times to get free and play the ball, Cleary refused to let go. Any other team, any other player, it would be an easy penalty. Not that time. Next set, the ref manufactures a 6 again while the Panthers work it out, get a ridiculous penalty because a Panther dived to get a quick PTB, and then score.

I know I sound like a broken record but we can't be the only ones seeing this. It is absolutely blatant.

Earlier, when the Panthers were on the 5th, a Roosters marker (who was actually square) was called away by the ref when he pressured a Cleary kick, giving Cleary hours to select his kick. In contrast, Panthers markers were split side to side on the Roosters 5th, left early, and are not called out or penalised.

Wtf was that penalty that’s fucking ridiculous
"Penalty for ... aaahhh ... Panthers aren't up by enough"
"Can we challenge that?"
"Nope... act of foul play... we're moving on"

What about Kikau’s knock on while laying on the deck when he attempted to offload. Bunker must have seen that.

i dislike the panthers more then the storm and that's a hard thing to do

Was that earlier in the game? Because Cleary didn't even make a tackle when the Roosters were working it off their line.

I've looked at that vision again looking for a penalty but unless they got Luai or somebody going early it seemed like the Panthers were content to do the minimum because the Roosters couldn't really run onto the ball trapped inside their own 20.

The penalty on Verrills was unfortunate but you can't ignore it. Common sense sadly isn't a defence in the NRL.

You cannot give this a try... Manu has fumbled this ball 5 times trying to offload it and it's touching the panthers every time.

Manu gets rewarded for being a massive hog who bombed a lightning quick ptb by going for glory and running straight into the defence

good call i reckon, panthers purposely offside and he dropped the ball back

I can feel a million 6 agains coming for Penrith.

Maybe it wasn't Cleary, but the commentators said "great tackle by cleary". It was the set before the Panthers got it and got 3 sets before scoring. Roosters were on the 2nd-ish tackle and ran out to their left (camera side of the ground) and was tackled 1 on 1.

Yep. The Panthers haven't been carried for the last 10 minutes and all of a sudden they look ordinary. Let's see how the refs respond.

Another random 6 again with no explanation, thankfully they bomb it. And another penalty to get the Panthers out.
