Would you take David Fifita back?

Not sure why fans have resentment towards Fifita. Titans are clowns and offered him a ridiculous amount of money. He would've be a fool to turn it down. Besides, he was at the end of his contract. Had every right to look elsewhere. He wasn't a pos about it and tried to get out early etc.

The Turncoates saga was worse than Fifita's in my opinion. Rejected our contract renewal and took unders to scurry off to the storm. Pathetic. It's almost poetic that the storms cracks are starting to appear this season. Once Bellamy is gone in a couple years time it'll get worse too. I'm sure they'll still be a top (4'ish) team for the foreseeable future. But will probably never be as dominate as they once were.

Agreed Coates situation was worse than Fifita, but the problem comes from the fact that we did offer him decent money to stay, but he left for more (understandably) however the sting comes from leaving after helping us to our first spoon.

Coates, Fifita and Walsh would be viewed entirely differently if they all left when we were at the top of the ladder, but they didnt, they abandoned a sinking ship when the fans and the club were drowning and that is some shit i personally will never forget.

I am happy to take Walsh back because we are getting him on the cheap and he is a gun, but it will take him helping us to a premiership to erase the fact he bailed when we were at our worst, and the same would be applied to Fifita if he returned.

Coates can get fucked though, that traitorous dog went to our worst enemy for LESS money after helping us to a spoon. If he was allowed to come back to the Broncos, i would be a Dolphins supporter the very next day.

Tbh I’m pretty surprised that people are saying he’s worth700-800k. I wouldn’t take him back for more than 600k.

I get that but at 600k for what he can bring to your team if the coaches are able to get him consistently putting in effort in areas of his game that have let him down, it's potentially a steal.

I also think there will be some club wasting away in the bottom of the ladder prepared to pay 700+

When you look at our younger players who had all the ability in the world to make it at any level and you see where they've gone to, you can't really say that any of them furthered their career.

Xavier Coates maybe? That really depends how Melbourne are looking next year after they lose the bulk of their pack to other clubs.

I don’t hate players that leave us but his form dropped immensely when he left and I’m not sure he’s motivated to get it back. If we do get him back he needs to do more than run every time he gets the ball. He is a bigger ball hog than Herbie and part of the reason Oates stopped getting the ball.

I think lazy is fair to say on occasion. His head seems to go MIA for periods unknown. I just put it down to his age. You would think chatty blokes like Reyno and Patty on the field, would be in Dave’s ear all night.....there'd be no chance for Dave to switch off.

If Fifita is willing to come back for 500k, I would take him back.

Give him conditions in his contract that if he wants the big payday, he needs to hit certain targets set out by the coaching staff.

Good question. Talent wise obviously he is up there but then, performance wise, he’s been easily overtaken by Capewell, Nanai, Gilbert and probably even Arrow. Then he has Luki to beat out as next in line. It’s a long way back for him.

The point here is simple enough. You claim that anyone that doesn't want Fifita back is due to the fact they are bitter. This is flat out incorrect. There are people that don't want him back for potentially valid reasons.
Yes he is a game breaker, possibly one of the best, but if that only comes out once in a while is he actually that good? At present he is demanding stupid amounts of money but if the $$$ are toned down that becomes less of a problem.
What if he is a lazy trainer, a bad influence on culture, a disruption to team harmony?
I'm not saying he is as I have no idea, but IF he is, these are also valid reasons not to have him back.

End of the day, DD, Ikin and Kev have been making excellent R+R decisions and they know way more than I do.

Wrong. I said anyone that said a flat no, meaning no under any circumstances. Not wanting Fifita back on a cheap contract, there is no valid reason for this outside of being a bitter fool.
