Rather than bag Tesi at fullback it's time to start thinking about where else he could fit into the team. Reece will be fullback next season. Let's just take that for granted.

Kotoni is not going anywhere. On the other side we have Herbie, Deine and potentially Tesi fighting for the place. Herbie would have to be in front, but I'd be as okay with any of them as I'd be sorry to see any of them go.

Where else could Tesi play? I don't see him as a winger, but Deine or Herbie, maybe. Selwyn and Corey look pretty locked in out there. We have two spares. More, if you count Hoeter and Pereira, who I think are a step down.

He doesnt, hes a backup FB.

I subconsciously knew we'd get raped when I saw Gee and Atkin were in charge

I guess the Tigers will forget about the legal action they talked about, because they were paid in full tonight

Got the Lotto numbers too ?

So the times when you have these feelings and it turns out the opposite do you make sure to post about it ?

Ask him why he keeps posting everything Pete Badel writes if you want to see the spittle flying.

IMO Lee would be the safer bet. Tesi has great attack, but i seriously worry he cannot read the opposition attack. It would be havoc on that edge.
Tesi does have great attack.

Sure the tries might still have happened, but hes committing cardinal sins back there. Top teams will destroy him.

Frame 1:
The whole left side was stalled, Tesi started to chase across, put brake on - then had to sprint again. Might not have stopped the try but SHOULD have been there. He didnt read it.

Frame 2:
Tesi stood there and hoped Paix would stop him. He SHOULD have put his body infront of the player, he had the time but not the awareness.

Frame3:
He was having a holiday in back field and decided to stay deep and off the play instead of crunch up on the ball player. He was 10m away, and completely over ran the play when the ball was passed. Zero pressure by him.
It also depends how he's being coached. Received wisdom has the fullback follow the ball across the field - get on his kelpie dog as Seibold put it - but that's easier said than done when they spin it wide and then turn it back inside or grubber behind you.

Not being able to win a contest for the high ball precludes you from the role in my opinion. Same with the wing.

Hoeter should take some blame too .
Miscommunication on the 1st bomb . Much like with Oates in the past . I don`t think Tesi is scared to catch . I think it`s a tactic by the team . Let the taller player take the catch if contested . Then they can`t decide at the last moment who`s job it is .

I did see him fly and catch a contested ball later in the game ?

In the cold light of day, I'm wondering if all the top teams have upped the ante at training of late. Look at all the top 8 (or almost there) teams who have played so far this weekend. Roosters only just got over a completely decimated Manly. The Storm scoreline flatters them, they were not great and have been bog average the past few weeks. Penrith/Eels became a bit of a blowout with 12v13 but really the quality of the game was well down on what we've come to expect. Sharks v Rabbits was a bludger of a game for the most part. We looked flat. There seems to be a pretty common theme here with all the top teams well down on their best. Perhaps could say the same last weekend too?

If it's the case, it's a shame, because this is one we should have won. It could also be a bit of complacency, or the young team not quite bringing the energy needed against a lowly opponent towards the end of a long season. 5% less is all it takes to get beaten. But in any case, it's more important for the mental state of the team to win the next few. Review today and move on quickly. Some big games coming up the next few weeks and we'll do well not to dwell on lastnight's flat performance.

Roosters in Syd.
Knights, Storm, Eels at home.
Dragons in Sydney to finish it.

The boys can win all of those if they show up. 5-game win streak mostly against likely finals rivals. Let's do it.

For context....I've read through the entire thread anonymously.....

Sipping So What GIF by Lifetime

a) I can't get hung up on the refs.....maybe I'm just used to not getting the rub of the green. As Brisbane fans we should all be hardened to this regular occurrence.
b) Reno's had a shocker. I guess as McHunt pointed out he was "sick" all week (whether that was the flu or something else) ...then copped a pretty bad knock to the head. Doesn't matter how good the rest of the team is "trying"...if your half is having an off night, you're going to struggle.
c) Errors....be they dropped balls or stupid penalties. They all cost bad. I thought we had got all of those types of games out of our system.....apparently not. We're out of sync for some reason at the minute....the last time we looked that bad was when Tesi last played in the team. We simply have to get TMM back at fullback ....get Gamble back on the bench. BW is holding the dummy half....I really don't think Paix is offering us anything currently. At least Gamble will offer some mongrel.
d) Tesi's game was just another overwhelming pointer that he is indeed Isucko MkII. Rocks and diamonds all the way. His rocks WILL lose you the game. Nip it in the bud....why torture ourselves. Get rid of him.
e) Riki is stepping up.....👍
f) Mariner....mehh. Went OK I guess. That said...Brenko Lee is well short of being "the" replacement for Herbie. I don't see it as KW being complacent by dropping him for new blood. Did it work....? Not really I guess.

The bounce back for the Rorters next week will be very relevant to how we finish the year.....

Doesn’t have a spot in my opinion. I’m with the majority of people who’d be happy to see him leave ASAP.

I thought Hoeter was a bit ordinary last night. Might be his last game for a while.

That opinion seems to blow in and out with the wind around here.

Anywhere we put him he will be a defensive liability. There are better candidates in every position he could potentially fill in ‘23.

He should have gone to the titans when he had the opportunity because he is losing value with each game at fullback for us.

Both Reynolds and Mam let Tesi down twice tonight with shocking passes.

Thank goodness not every person on this forum doesn`t have their eyes painted on .
The 1st pass Tesi dropped I think was his fault . He took his eyes off the ball . The 2nd the pass from Reynolds was too far in front .

But of course Tesi is sht and needs to be sold off to another club .Walsh will never make a mistake and is the best #1 defensively in the universe . LOL .

Quite frankly the performance was just not good enough. From the effort, to the attitude and to the overall product of what we dished up was a disgrace. Blaming the REFS in here is also a further disgrace, that loss was our entire doing. For a team who had just snagged top 4 and came up against a bottom side, to have the attitude that they are above putting in any sort of effort specifically in defensive line speed is an atrocity. All be it for a young side this sort of loss can be defining for what sort of team we are. We need to be ruthless against the lower tier sides or otherwise we may as well be chucking our reserve grade side out there and letting them go nuts with a bit of energy and tikka.

Team changes TMM in for Tesi. Flegs whilst terrific we cant have such a energeticless bench on all together so he has to go back to the bench. Deine whilst solid I am prbably leaning to Brenko at this stage as the left edge was working really well in the past month
