No Hardie which is a bummer.

Morris tipped to debut.

Agar’s bowling just isn’t good enough to warrant a spot imo. I feel as though the selectors are attracted to the idea of a left handed bowling all rounder and are ignoring his FC record.

The fox article I read comparing Agar to SOK was rich. SOK had a sub-25 FC bowling average (better than even Warne’s) and still barely played any test cricket.

It's not form because Agar doesn't have any form to go on. He's played two games in 18 months.

V Queensland and WI- 3/212 from 78 overs.

I said yesterday if they go with Agar it's because he complements Lyon and turns it the other way and is a bit more solid batting.

Neither of them are good enough.
Swepson is our 2nd best spinner. I can understand wanting to go with the young offie, but he is too similar to Lyon. If we play 2 spinners, it must be Swepson. Agar is a braindead call.

It's not a hard luck story. He just hasn't been in form when he's had to be. 17 wickets in the last two years at 46 from eight games just isn't enough. When he got 34 wickets in a season in 20/21, he was in the team.

But then Agar hasn't been playing at all.

He was picked before Swepson for Sri Lanka too in July but dropped out with injury, so they probably showed their hand then. Agar is more precise and doesn't bleed runs like Swepson- Swepson will give it a rip and get you a big wicket but he will go for runs doing it. Finger spin normally do better in Asia and Agar is a better batsman.

Swepson's time in Asia-1/121 in India, 2/266 in Pakistan, 8/192 in Sri Lanka.

But then Agar has only played in Bangladesh.

So Hazlewood, Agar and Renshaw in. Boland dropped, Green and Starc obviously injured.

Renshaw also has Covid, so has to sit away from everyone haha

Were the saffas trying to convince marnus to walk after the call 🤣🤣🤣🤣

The Agar selection must be deflating for every spinner toiling away in Sheffield Shield
He's basically only there because he can bat a bit so that helps your tail out.

He barely turns it at all, but he's a good ODI bowler that is meant to turn it away from right handers, so at worst he should be able to hold up an end.... he's also a pretty handy fielder.

What are his stats even like in shield??

Renshaw has covid, feels ordinary and still intends to play. WTF?
