Round 1: vs PANTHERS - FRI, March 3, 7.05pm Qld (BlueBet Stadium)

Broadcast on Nine, Kayo, Foxtel.

Walters:

“Reyno should be right for round one. He is confident of playing. He has another 12 days before the game against Penrith takes place. I reckon he will be there. I think he will be fine. He seems confident enough. He is a good experienced player so he’ll know if he’s ready.”
“I would say Adam is a better chance than Reece. But never write a young man off. Reece has a bit of go about him, so I’m sure he wants to play as well. We’re in a good position and if we get those two in the team, that will be delightful for us.”
"We won’t be resting Reyno this year. We will play him as much as we can this year. He is such a competitive guy and he wants to be on the field as much as possible. It’s important our high-performance staff are looking after his body week to week and in and around training. I was really happy with Adam’s performances last year. He is determined this year to knuckle down and get himself in the best shape for what I’m confident will be another very strong season from him.”

I feel like these quotes from Kev have a fair bit in common with grade 5 me doing my first written assignment.

Although I’d well and truly run out of things to write about at 250 words, I still had to reach 500.

Now I know how my teachers must have felt.

He's employed to coach the footy team, just in case you thought you were marking some bloke on his English or something

cool story bro , maybe come back when you've achieved as much as he has and then it might sound a little better.

@WASSHHH I would expect any fan to know how to write the surname of one of the great family names in the club, if not, you've instantly lost my appreciation. It's a common courtesy. How hard is it to get someone's name right? Even if I had a genuine dislike for someone, I would still get their name right.

People like yourself just want to see Kevvie crash and burn and are prepared to bring him down at every corner, all because he isn't a master coach. You've got an elevated level of entitlement if you think we should just oust him because he's not living up to the standards of a Wayne Bennett. That's not how personal development works.

If your previous employers were as harsh on you as you are towards Kevvie, I doubt you'd have achieved a great deal. That's an insinuation that you're even employed, which may be a stretch.

It's going to be a tough ask obviously, especially down there and the Pennies having the refs in their back pocket....But they were pretty mediocre against St. Helens, a side that would probably be fringe top 8 if they were in the NRL. If our forwards can get over the top of them hard and for the majority of the game, I think we have enough points in us to steal it at the death.

However I'm tipping the Pennies in the comp, because I know better than to jinx the boys by tipping us.

FFS knock it off.
I just want to ensure I know which part you’re referring to. Is it commenting on the quotes attributed to the coach or trying to insult other posters?

I only ask because other threads seem to deviate off course for pages before anything is said, if at all.

Don't make Harry angry.......

you wouldn't like him when he's angry

The way people react to any criticism of Kev is truly bizarre. You admit he isn’t a great coach and requires development but insinuate that people are just out to see him fail if they comment on his short comings.

Of course fans are entitled to want a coach who provides results. It’s not a game of social sport where you’re just happy people are giving it a go.

Kev’s 55 and coached 116 games over 12 years. I’m pretty sure my employer would be getting pretty impatient if I was still requiring that much development. He’s the Billy Walters of coaching.
