I thought Jock was looking decent until he got injured and then just wasn't the same and then got injured again. I am certainly not giving up on him.

Unfortunately, in the back end of the season, there were just some awful, awful signing extensions in Rogers and Walters.

I would be extending Oates for another year, even if it meant we had to say pay out Rogers to get him off the books or Walters even.

We still have a decent side moving forward if Maguire can nail the preseason. We have more than enough talent as is to bounce back very quickly. I would be very interested to see this:

1. Walsh
2. Trew/Leota/some unexpected metre eater signing
3. Mariner
4. Cobbo
5. Arthars
6. Mam
7. Reynolds / Madden (when Reynolds is inevitably injured) / Black
8. Willison
9. Paix
10. Haas
11. Piakura
12. Riki
13. Carrigan

14. Mozer
15. Te Kura/Semu
16. Hetherington/Taupau
17. Staggs
No Jensen?

I know te kura is big, but he just looks too slow and not vicious enough with his running. I know he is young, but I am not sold on him.

I am concerned he is just another kid that has come through the grades getting by because he is much bigger than everyone else, but when they hit first grade where the defence is better, they struggle because they didn't have develop other skills or endurance to get by.

He looked pretty good against Melbourne pre-lisfranc injury and in Q Cup. His question mark is fitness and age. He looks an amazing prospect.

Anyone worried about Willison.
More worried we will over pay to keep him tbh. Great front row prospect but we are falling into the same trap we do every year if we pay big for him. There's probably a dozen props around his age just as good that you don't hear about and will get smaller contract because they don't play for the broncos.

He’s on 250K right now, wonder if he’d be happy with 500K

Yes, like Paix...

I think Oates and the Broncos would both be better off to part ways. A fresh start somewhere else would do him good. Super League probably the best option.
Not sure Oates would head overseas... doesnt he have media gigs lined up??

Heading to ESL puts him out of the spotlight and wastes any momentum he has on that front

Yep I'd prefer us to invest in the known talent that is Willison if it has to be a choice between the two of them

Wingers still have to run fast in Super League. Easy to say but perhaps he should have moved into the forwards when he started talking about it. Certainly when he felt himself slowing up. If he had spent a year in Q. Cup in the forwards, back then, maybe he would be on top of it now. Think it’s too late.

Experienced depth.

Kinda like a consultant ?
Cause unless there is a miracle he would be playing Q Cup at Souths with Karmicheal .
If he was in the opposing team at training against the wingers in the 1st 17 do you think he would be competitive ? Or he could help their development with veteran insights ?

These guys that you don`t hear about ?
Do they play for Maori All Stars ? Do they / could they score tries or drive runners back wards in the tackles ?
I highly doubt it . If they could they would be playing 1sts already .

Even that's over paying. What's he shown? Talent yes. But you could buy about 20 different players who have played at the level he did this year for years for that. That is paid on the assumption that he is going to get better, I could give you 1000 case studies that show they stay the same or get worse about more often than they improve. Not saying he will, but I am so ****ing sick of this club over paying for these young guys bcos their manager is sucking them off bcos the media has hyped them up. He has shown no more ability and talent than Joe ofa did at the same age, how's that going? He wants more than another club offers him from the broncos (a club that developed him and stick with him through injuries with the best support and facilities money can buy?) than CYA. NEXT... and there will be 3 or 4 in the next few years I can guarantee. Over spend on the spine and that its
