I would not pay Staggs and Cobbo any more than they are already on, they could go.

This team really needs a hard nosed no nonsense back row. It carries a team a lot in attack and defence. Feel Fifita is a part of the problem not the solution

In the current moment yes. I'd lose Staggs and Cobbo if their reported salary requests are even close to the mark, we have to stop over paying under performers. Cobbo is only 22 but looks as slow and worn out as someone playing a few years too long.

They can't be the only casualties though, our backrow should be told to look elsewhere or pull a finger out as on current form they shouldn't be picked let alone re-signed.

Why do people want Fifita? His attitude is absolute trash. He doesn’t care. Legit just cashes in his pay every week. We need hard worker, no nonsense players who are going to buy in.
 
Staggs is stronger, faster and more talented but being outplayed by shibasaki- a minimum wage player. In pretty much most stats; tries, metres, tackle efficiency etc.

Is he really providing the return on investment expected of his salary? Is his salary worth that one in seven games he has a good one?

I would not be upset if some higher profile players got a tap on the shoulder and we looked to make some smart trades with clubs to bring in tough reliable consistent players, even if they don't have as high a ceiling.
 
Rumours (which are probably true) are suggesting that the Sharks are struggling with finding a suitable upgrade for Kayal Iro - the dude is a gun and not afraid to do the hard work. Other clubs can talk to him at the end of the year.

Again, it would be insane to sign off on $800k for Staggs, and who knows how much for Cobbo.

For sure. The Sharks also have three wingers, I'd be looking to take Katoa from them if he was willing to come. A nuggety winger who is safe as houses and makes metres - exactly what we need.

I think Katoa is already on 500-550k so it would be hard to convince him to move without a big upgrade. If Kayal is on around 300k because he signed middle of last year after a few injuries, I wonder if he would consider moving for an extra 250k.

I'd be super happy with either. Either would be a consistent performing upgrade on both Staggs and Cobbo.

We've been struggling with Reynolds.
 
Pretty good stats for a 'not that guy' in a weak team, playing at 7.

I'd rather try him at 7 post Reynolds original deal than break the bank and cause further cap issues. Ideally you keep Reynolds on to coach in some capacity.

That would be sweet. In fact all of the Sharks outside backs are better than ours. The Broncos guys still get talked up like they are superstar next level athletes but the Sharks are faster, fitter, hungrier, smarter and have some mongrel. Same goes for many sides.
