The threaten to leave to get more money and weaken other areas of the squad trick. Wonder if it'll work again.

Great player, best prop in the game, all that. But we can't keep affording to increase the salary of a prop when we have so many glaring holes in the squad.

I'd rather keep him of course, but it can't be for more money again.

Nah he's definitely Bondi bound... and probably on a discount for the kulcha... Uncle Nick will set his family up in his Vermuse rental for like $100 a week or something... Sandon won't be living there for much longer so he'll be looking for a new tenant
 
If he wants to go let him go. He's a fantastic player, but at the same time he's not worth either the money or the circus that happens whenever its contract time.

A smart club would use his over inflated salary to bring in players who would make a difference to the balance of our squad. Unfortunately, i dont have any faith we will bring in the right players. A blind man could have told us we needed edge back rowers for a few years now more than anything and we have ignored it.
 
Yep I wouldn’t be upgrading him. Possibly downgrading to a million or less. He gets the luxury of not having to move if he stays, if he wants the extra cash then pack your life up and go. We need money spent elsewhere.
 
You just know that Gould will end up getting him at the dogs.
 
Legit the only player I would be sad to lose. Yeah we are sick of all this bs when it comes to his contract but ****, he is the only actual 'superstar' that we have.
I'd be letting go of any other player in this squad without caring too much.
Start with Staggs and go and get Herbie back. What a **** up that was.
Happy for any other player who 'wants to explore their options'. Follow the Tigers lead and what they did with Galvin. Offer them what they are worth to the club, put a deadline on them and if they haven't accepted move on.
I guess the one good thing is we have the majority of the squad off contract come Nov 1. I am hoping Madge has told the powers to be that there will be mass change incoming however, that means at least a 2yr rebuild, most probably longer.
 
I would fear Manly signing Haas more than Gus and the Dogs. The Trbojevics are off contract at the same time and CEO Tony Mestrov said earlier this year they were saving cash to have a red hot go at signing Hass when he comes off contract. Payne's partner is also from Manly (Mona Vale) and all her family still live there.

If he leaves Brisbane, I think he is a very good chance of going to Brookvale.

Not sure he’d want to be under Siebold again and they look like heading towards the cellar as much as we do with no DCE and a very broken TTurbo. Don’t let last night’s result fool you, we would have made anyone look amazing, even Newcastle.
