The thing I’m liking about Madge is that he’s making decisions a coach who plans on being here a long time would make.

He’s not making rush decisions to get short term success. Seems keen to make Mozer and Black wait another year or so. Made Mariner wait for an opportunity.

So far there have been no big panic signings or re-signings.

Yep, good call. Maguire has really impressed me this year. Having a coach with a long term plan to match our pipeline of guns coming through, its pretty exciting.

The thing I like about him is the fact his name isn’t plastered all over the internet saying he’s the next cam smith blah blah blah. It gives me hope 😂

On that...the irony is, Bukowski actually does give me Smith vibes way more than Mozer. If we could somehow keep them both long term, we're not going to not ourselves with such elite talent at hooker...and we have two of them. Given Mozer's injury issues, I just wonder whether we might see Bukowski go past him.

Going to be interesting to see who will be the hooker over the next couple of years.

Don’t see how we can keep Paix on after next year, Walters has had his best year, Buk & Mozer young guns, Mozer probably wants to be playing regular NRL soon & who knows how much longer Ben Hunt will play on for.

I had a theory maybe Lockyer gets Mozer loaned to London broncos for next year? If that’s possible

I think it’s good getting Duffy too so Black isn’t just thinking the 7 jersey is his once those blokes retire. They can genuinely compete for that spot

I`ve seen them both play .
And I agree I saw more C Smith in Buk . Mozer is good but over rated in my opinion .
Haven`t seen enough from Mozer to believe he is the future .
Bukowski with 3 tries and MOM is another story .

On one of the poddies there was talk that Madge is big on the steel sharpens steel side of things.

So Duffy coming in and representing a legit option and competition for the 7 jersey should make Black improve his level.

Madge has already done it with Karp and Mariner jumping over Cobbo and Arthars.

Shiba earning and holding onto that starting spot.

Piaks competing with Gos, etc. for the backrow spot... Piaks was in reserve grade to start the year.

The depth has been shaping up pretty well this year compared to last year where it seemed like Kevvie was very reluctant to put faith in the depth guys

Yeah so true and it’s working too. Piakura seems like he’s taking his footy way more seriously, Mariner has improved his backfield runs too. Kev would just run out the same team every week.

With Billy down, we'll need Mozer next season.

Yes he’s looking promising.

I wonder what the average age for a premiership winning halfback is.

DCE is the youngest I can think of. Somewhere around 21. Reyno would’ve been about 24.

Cleary 23/24?
I cant wait for that kid. We have not produced a good halfback since Ben hunt! How good that this kid will get to learn from hunt and Reynolds

Benji debuted at 18, and won a premiership two years later.

Coby wil be 20 when the season starts next year.

Tried to do a lot of that off the top of my head - I can't believe I initially buggered up Kevie and Alf!

If we go pre-NRL era, Sterlo was 21 when he won the Eels inaugural premiership.

Need to sign a couple of backrowers for sure. I think one needs to be top tier as well.

I wouldn't say no to a front rower either. Maybe a fullback even to cover Walsh as Cobbo is gone and Perham got injured.
