The Storm Hate Thread [Official]

When I think how shattered I was dreading I might feel if we lost that game it sort of puts into perspective how Melbourne fans and the team are feeling right now.

I was shitting bricks at the thought of adding to the heartache of 2015 and so soon after 2023.

Imagine how much more it must be for them to cop two year’s losses in a row. Especially seeing as the latest loss was to us.

I have to admit my level of schadenfruede is off the Richter scale still!

I wonder how many teams respond well after two GF losses in a row. I also imagine that aren’t many that have experienced it.

I’ve seen people say this eases the pain of 15 & 23, it doesn’t do that for me, they burn deep. But it certainly helps to think about 08 a little bit and know we do get to rip their hearts out.

For me now it’s as much about the losses as what it gave the respective clubs/fanbases.

Cows and their fans were already insufferable enough but for them to get that one really pushed them over the edge of tolerance for me.

Penrith of course getting glazed continuously for 4 straight and same thing about their fans. Should’ve had 2 and then 1 at the most.

That and they were both always referenced by everyone as ‘OMG best GF evarrr’ - well no **** off because they weren’t for me.

All 23 of them would be shattered. Luckily they can just go bandwagon another team next year.

They can go **** themselves. The vast majority of them have latched on to a team because the NRL have propped them up and given them artificial success. If they are true fans they'll stick around even during the "hard" times (oh poor ****ers, making GF's in successive years, sounds tough). But they aren't, so they won't, so put your $$ on a Storm premiership next year as the NRL will make it happen again.

Yep the NRL will continue riding Melbourne because they loves the ratings boost having them in the GF gave them.

Wonder what the odds are of Bellyache bowing out in the coming weeks? He looked completely over it this year. Showed very little emotion in games. Just seemed consigned to the fact they were playing shit. If they didn't get a golden ride into the Grand Final, I reckon they would have been bounced out like Canberra were in straight sets.

Dogs were atrocious until a small rally in the second half. Sharks were completely impotent in attack.

Funnily enough, I was only dreading my influence on the game by being present.

I had a really strange (for me) calm sense of confidence the boys were going to do it, on the day of the game.

Could have been my mental state after the 10hr overnight drive to Sydney on zero sleep but I just wasn’t worried in the slightest about Melbourne winning that Sunday morning…
