Good recovery for Oscar after a horrible start. Gonna be a crazy end to the season.
 
I think the second half of that race was exactly what he needed. He got the bit between the teeth and just went for it. He needs to keep doing that, time for playing safe is over.
 
If you ever wanted confirmation that world sees McLaren are manufacturing a Norris WDC, listen to the Mexico fans booing him. Remember, these are neutral fans with no dog in the fight.

It’s not just an Aussie thing, the world recognises unfair treatment and unfair racing, McLaren is an absolute joke,
 
The upgrade thing doesn't wash for me this weekend, as McLaren are one of the only teams that didn't bring an update, yet Oscar was slow all weekend.

If there is something wrong with his car, it's not been reported anywhere, other than his comments during qualifying but not sure I've seen that confirmed as an issue.

I want Oscar to win as much as the next guy in here, but something is going on within his helmet as well. Maybe he is feeling the slight perceived favoring of Lando on team calls that the crowds seem to be reacting to as well and is letting that get to him. A lot of their team calls have hugely benefited Lando, and not much the other way. That would get in your head eventually.

It just doesn't seem like it's a car thing at this point to me. Oscar was flying all season, when they were doing updates that people are saying were now geared towards Lando, Oscar was still flying. Now all of a sudden he isn't we can't just revert to old updates being geared to Lando.

The papaya rules and team calls stuff is different though. There's no way that doesn't piss you off if you are Oscar. He needs a reset.
 
On the race itself, Ferrari incompetence not telling Lewis to give back the advantage was madness. That said, not sure how out of all those early laps the only penalty they found was for Hamilton.

Really disappointing ending too under VSC.

I thought he looked better and better as the race went on, good signs potentially.

This is the majority of the problem IMO and he's the only one who can pull himself out of it. The team sure as shit won't help. Especially now that Lando has the lead.

He needs to qualify ahead of Norris. Although he'll probably be asked to give his place to Lando or something tbh.

I heard a rumour this morning that the Lando side has blocked themselves off to Oscars side? Not sure what that even means tbh.

Why wouldn't he? Lando has benefitted all season by 'Papaya rules'. Now its a free for all, there's no way he is going to help Oscar.
 
If its a wet weekend as predicted, definitely bodes better for a Max win imo.

Lando doing us a huge favour and spinning out would be helpful.

Right, but I'm interested to know what it even means. In my childish mind I have visions of them hanging up a sheet or something, would be amazing.

I do wonder what would happen if Oscar qualifies 2-3 spots higher than Lando for the last few races. Especially if Max is either between or ahead of them.
 
Sprint in 30 mins, didnt even realise sprint quali was this morning

Oscar starting 3rd, Lando first..
