The problem with the WCC is that the SL teams always treat it like a grand final. Probably not what you want in the pre-season.

Wow. Goosebumps!!! You know what would be absolute cinema? Slow motion footage of our greatest moments in the finals series to Heroes by Peter Gabriel (from the Lone Survivor soundtrack). I'd be in tears if I watched thatNot really sure where else to post this.
This video gives me chills.

We Charge On by Trent Dalton | Brisbane Broncos
Since 1988, our members and fans have been the heartbeat of the Brisbane Broncos. As we enter this new chapter, one of the city’s great storytellers, Trent Dalton, speaks from the heart, capturing the spirit of Brisbane, its team and its people.www.broncos.com.au
Interview with Dave Donaghy ... talks about far more than just the new logo
I gave up after question three.I like DD normally in interviews (also think he is just about the best thing to happen to this club in about 20 years), but he was saying a whole lot of nothing in this interview. Danced around every question with gibberish...
I gave up after question three.
My gosh DD! So many words that basically meant nothing. Getting master at beating around the bush.
The bloke maybe prepping for a future Mayor—>Premier—>PM?
Nah, I like the bloke too. He has put in so much effort & made some tough calls to get to where we’re now. We should sign him up for life.he gets my vote ... he'd be a shit load better than anything we've currently got at any of those levels of Government
I think the long game is what Madge is wanting. Our apparent premiership window. I dont know if I'll have enough space for all these future premiership tattoos...
Brisbane Broncos (2026–2032)
The reigning champions, Brisbane Broncos, are perfectly positioned for a long, sustained premiership window.
Their pathways continue to deliver quality depth, ensuring the club won't fall off sharply even as stars age.
With stars like Reece Walsh, Payne Haas, and future Bronco Jonah Pezet all young and having barely hit their prime yet, Brisbane boasts one of the competition's healthiest age profiles.
If they can maintain retention and avoid key injuries, the Broncos are set up to contend for the better part of the next decade.

I totally agree with this. Prior to last year this team has had no success in 19 years, they should be wanting to win everything they can. Bigger than that though I agree that if you let the culture become we pick and choose what we compete for that seeps into their heads and applies to other occasions. We had the best finals series in memory based on the fact that they didn't stop competing and it was win at all costs. Imagine if that Raiders game they start to think "oh well we have another chance next week" and they take the foot off the gas, we probably don't win the premiership.I think it does help us. If Madge is trying to instill a winning mentality, then you should be trying to win everything on offer.
Picking and choosing what you play and when to apply yourself to allows for complacency.
Injuries will happen regardless, I don't think this should be the determining factor.
We could wrap everyone in cotton wool and Walsh does his ACL 10mins into Round 1.
****ing wow, that is good shit. Trent Dalton has such a way with words. Not really sure where else to post this.
This video gives me chills.

Big challenge for Madge will be the eventual retirement of Reynolds and Hunt I reckon. But as you say, given he's just won us a premiership, he'll hopefully be given the time.I think the long game is what Madge is wanting.
He cops a lot of flak about working a playing group too hard and eventually overstaying his welcome, but he can see that the Broncos job is one of the best spots to be as a career coach.
Broncos have a consistent conveyor belt of talent coming through and the profile to bring legit stars of the game to the team. If the team is successful then both of those elements are amplified even further as players go to the best location for their development.
A serious coach would be backing themselves to convert on that conveyor belt of talent more often than not and if they do then there is potential to build a powerhouse.
He's shown that NRL is where he wants to be, given he moved on from rep footy spots as soon as an opportunity popped up.
He's now won a comp at the Broncos, so he'll get a bit of leeway from the front office, so as long as he doesn't lose the playing group then he can settle in for a long stay.
I think his next step will be building a squad / core leadership group that aligns with his mentality so there is no player burnout, but I think he has learnt from his Souths days as well.
