Timing is interesting from the Rabbits. They didn’t even wait for the cooling off period to be over. I think Ive had a mini heart attack!!

Bennett tipped off Badel, Badel wrote it and then Souths/Broncos had to do something, or it would have been days of rumours.
 
No shock at all. We would have matched any deal financially so his banging on about loving the Broncos and not wanting to leave was all bullshit from his management.

Never made any secret i'm not a huge of fan of the bloke and i dont think i ever will be. He's a terrific footballer, but i still cant get past him threatening violence on a woman despite him doing some positive things since that indident.

Glad the constant Payne contract renewal circus will finally be behind us. Lets send him out as a back to back premiership winner and move on.

It would be good if we could get the last laugh over old Wayno, i’ve always been a bit of a fan but now it’s different. I’m definitely on the **** you Wayne train now.

It strikes me as such an odd decision. I mean the Bunnies will have most of their good players being a year older by the time he's there. They must be paying him an absolute packet to get him to leave Brisbane.
 
Could have sworn it was Bennett back in the day who refused to pay forwards big bucks, it sucks to lose him but if you're going to refuse to write out a significant contract, you'd probably want to do it on a forward.

Payne didn't react well last time when he got boo'd out of Suncorp, it will be no different here.

They must be paying him ridiculous money. They have a horrific spine, so I don’t really get it. Still a huge blow to us.

The cope is that he will be in his late 20s by the time he leaves and we’ve seen great middles decline rapidly as they hit 30 (JT13, Jurbo)

It sucks but what can you do, hopefully its money related, which we all generally agreed is fine because he needs to care for a lot of shitty family members.
He's been an amazing player for the Broncos.
