NRL 2026 Round 3 Discussion

My ****ing tipping went to shit this week.

Only one I got right was Broncos.

What a ****ing weird season.

Geez how many spine players have gone down this season injured already. Look at Newcastle.

How many ****ing 'favours' does Uncle Nick have on people to get JWH a regular gig?

Wayne won't talk in the presser so Cam having to talk more than the coach... media will claim he's a master manipulator, but if it was any other coach they'd be ripping him to shreds for not answering questions... "opportunity to talk to your fans", blah blah blah

No mention on the CM website, SMH, Canberra Times, ABC, NRL, DT, nothing.

What if it were Madge? We all know the answer to that one. Every one of those sites, an article dedicated to it and then he'll be blasted all throughout next week.

Luai injury bad is it?

We often talk about the 'meta' and why certain teams are better than others. With a team like Penrith, it's a combination of systems, tactics and talent. For a team like the Warriors, it's moreso the former two.

They've put up big scores but it's not the brand of razzle dazzle footy that they were known for. It's simple grind football where you pressure the ruck as much as possible, work towards a kick and give your opposition nothing.

So far so good. 3-0 including two big scalps in the Roosters and the Raiders. The referees also seem to agree with their tactics because they've received a very generous whistle so far.

The Tigers attack was frustrating. They all ran the same angle, the support play needed to straighten or turn in to keep the Souths defence honest. Bennett teams notoriously love to slide and the Tigers constantly obliged them.

It's going to be difficult without Doueihi, Luai and Taylan. Forwards will need to scrap next week if they're any hope against the Warriors.

Souths weren't great, but had enough points in them to win. Murray makes a huge difference and that left-side is always going to be a threat in those close games.

Weak from dargons to take the two... they've started hot and should've looked to go for the try

I can see how wahs are playing penrith style, but I think a part that is missing is the fitness or maybe the defensive linespeed/intensity.

Penrith suffocate and grind opposition teams into the dirt minimising any chances they can get to attack their line.

I noticed that wahs just weren't providing that same pressure in yardage sets

Nah that's not a penalty try... that's just the bunker making that call so Sua isn't sent to the bin

No way is Pezet scoring there... Sua would tackle him instantly and Gutho is coming across in cover.

That's just to avoid the professional foul and sin bin
