Who thinks we are getting an ANZAC jersey. I think they will do the same thing from last year

Its got to have been 7 or 8 years since I posted last. But Xavier Willison is reason to wake up and get back in the forum. What an absolute beast. When he comes on our defence tightens up. His grab and wrap tackling and brick wall defence is epic to watch. His efforts to get back behind the markers after making tackles. His running game and positioning. What a superstar. We cannot lose this kid!

Also anyone skilled in AI know how to analyse 6-agains and check for equal application of the rule? It is currently way too easy to either influence the game on purpose or just be useless and invite conspiracy. This is a call to arms for someone smarter than me to figure out a way to check the validity of the 6-agains given this season and see how many were wrong.

You're underselling it, it was 19-8.
And yet the media went ON and ON about the forward pass with brimson being a travesty and cost the titans the game lol (wrongfully taken off but we just had 2 that were far more flat and not a peep).

Theres a reason there isnt a 6 again stat on nrl.com.... and theres a reason it isnt brought up in media. It doesnt fit the narrative, but I guarantee you that you could send me every single 6 again tackle against us and I'd find at least 20 from the opposition that weren't awarded to us that were worse.

Welcome back?
1. You weren’t here during our way to our 7th premiership either before or after? You missed the long waited treasured moments pal.

2. There’s no fcukin validity and no one can confirm. It’s simply is Vlando’s footy where the likes of Abdo & Annersley dances to the betting tunes of gambling agencies. To support their cause, they dig up rules(‘disruptor’ for example) that were barely used before to rig the game. Once their motive is served, it’s buried again.

Only thing we can hope for is, calls to get louder around nonstop efforts by the hound racing asshole to make the game quicker where players are falling off like flies & ultimately a class action filed against these rigging fcukheads.

Staggs, Arthars and Mariner all cleared and will play.
Hell yes.

I can get the data for Ruck Infringements through Champion Data.
But, the problem with using that is that it has **** all correlation to winning/losing. The Inside 10m ruck infringements are more correlated to losing, but only by about 20% and that is usually because of goal line defense.

You can't easily prove it with data, only the eye test. Since you'd have to create a neutral game simulation where only the ruck infringements matter.
Since not all ruck infringements are the same.

I will say this from a logical point of view. The dodgy games are the ones where the team with the FASTEST (play the ball time) * (play the balls) - (times in possession), has the LEAST ruck infringements. Since the whole point is the you are infringing the speed of the ruck.

I'll try see what I can do and get back to you all.

Also what would be interesting is the time in the game when they are called.

Frequently I see Refs pick on one team in the first 15 minutes and gas them. Then square it all up when they have spent ages defending and can barely fire an effective shot when they get a couple back to back to balance things.

Fatigue is definitely being "managed" by the Ref in a negative way.

It would also be interesting to see why teams are suddenly saints in the ruck/10m when they play the broncos. Someone did an analysis on that years ago and we consistently got the least penalties/6 against of any team - almost a statistical aberration.

Would have been released by now if we were. They will just slap a poppy on the home jersey and some soldiers names and that will be it.
Did we have one last year?

We might just wear that one again?

I'm sure Gorden and Faux will have thoughts on the optics of that

We just used the home jersey and had soldiers names below the badge and put a poppy on there.

Okay, so here are a few things I found:

Set Restarts have a 60% correlation with a team having to defend in their own half. Penalties only about 10%. Which make sense with the new rules for set restarts.
Set Restarts AND Penalties have a 50% correlation with a team having to defend in their own 20 metre line.

So, it is safe to say Set Restarts have a BIGGER impact on the game then penalties.

We are obviously the most set restarted and penalized team by a long shot. On average we get 2.5+ more than our opponents. Penrith are 1.83 and St George are 1.5.

In saying this, refs can basically control where a half of football is played far easier now with fatigue, etc than previously with penalties.

For the ref to have that much power to control a game is CRAZY.

A penalty or knock on get replayed a million times but a 6 again has no scrutiny or accountability.

A team giving away 6 agains on the first tackle aren’t disadvantaged as the teams getting pinged 4th or 5th tackle.

IMO deliberate 1st tackle 6 agains should be treated as a professional foul

The problem with 6 agains is not only are they not consistent but it matters massively at what tackle they were given. Getting 6 agains on the first tackle or late in the tackle count makes a huge difference especially when they are given back to back. Not only should the NRL provide a 6 again count but also on what tackle they were given. I believe this would expose teams like Penrith who are happy to give away a 1st tackle 6 again so that they can get their line set.

My hope is that the 6 again area is moved back to the 40 m zone like last year if we have to keep the abortion of a rule at all. I'm for the players deciding the result of a game not the ref.

I have a bit of an anecdote to share, a moment that stayed with me after the game last weekend. I watched it with my folks, the old man is also a supporter but neither of them are anywhere near as into the game as I am.

There was a few times when both of them blew up at the six again being called against us just because neither of them had any idea what it was for. Mum asked me "What was that for, IBM?" and legit I have no idea how to answer her except to go off the on screen graphic that gives the supposed reason, like inside the 10 or ruck interference and yet the game continues, so we don't even an opportunity to actually SEE the infringement with our own eyes.

It would go a looong way if the broadcasters actually showed a replay of the six again infringement in a small box off to the side while play continues. At least then we can get a chance to see it and maybe alleviate the frustration, but no we have to just take the ref at his word and suck it up. Yeah....Give the likes of Ashley Klown and Todd Smith the benefit of the doubt. No thanks.

When the true hardcores universally hate the rule, and the casuals are regularly mystified and turned off by it, WHY IS THIS A POSITIVE for the game?? In what respect is it improving it?

To me 6 again's are the second biggest blight on the game of Rugby League, only behind the wrestle.. ( that's another story )
I used to watch every rounds NRL games, either live or catch up on the replays and loved doing so. These days I am totally disillusioned with the game and only watch the Broncos weekend game and mostly via the replay on Kayo. It just does my head in to watch the game live and I have to close the front door of my home so the neighbours don't hear me losing it and swearing my head off at the TV.
Funnily enough, almost everyone I talk to is in the same boat and is browned off with the game as it stands..
I would love to know how collectively we could get together to try and get the game back to where we can actually start to enjoy it again ,and understand what the **** is going on.
I know you can't stop progress but fmd , I would just love to get the enjoyment out of Rugby League that I used to get out of it when I was growing up in the 70's and 80's etc.
That seems so long ago( I know it is ) but Valandy and his gang are totally sending the game in the wrong direction and I for one am totally heartbroken by their product they call Rugby League..🤬
But on a brighter note, I just love getting on this site and listening to all the banter. Keep it up everyone..👍👍👍👍👍

I tend to agree with most of the ones they give, it’s when there’s a double standard and it’s not applied consistently that gets me. Superstars seem to be pretty good at milking them too.

Why isn't Willison prop, and Rogers 13? Piax is back, and bukowski bench? Can Rogers do a Smoothy?

I was there backing my beloved Broncs but was stuck in another country for 6 years. The footy was my lifeline! Anyway good times behind. But **** this six again shit. Only way to have a chance at change would be start with petitions. Then maybe organise a large scale boycott of an entire round. Basically get a shit tonne of NRL fans to tune out for one round after warming the NRL of our demands.

I agree with everything everyone has said so far on the topic. And it's ruining the sport and the spirit of the game. Lucky the boys are so fit. Any other team would be getting cricket scores put on them.
