POST GAME [Round 11, 2026] - Broncos vs Warriors

Nope... he definitely looked a bit more annoyed this week. But he still tells the story of i have faith in thr group in there even with the injuries...

Problem is if you honestly look at that pack from tonight, how many would be a lock in for any other NRL sides? I think 2... I really hope internally Madge knows the pack is soft and just not up to it.

When fully fit most of the pack is the same as last year. Soft and not up to it is a stretch.

Yeah fair point but he's only a pup. Our starting front row are out so in an ideal world he doesn't have to start but here we are....
But I think this is the problem, I don't see much quality outside of out top 17, sure there are 2 starting props out but your next 2 should be good enough to do a job, ours just aren't, its like men vs boys.

Gotta agree with some of the sus calls but as its been said already we are just a dumb **** team that does dumb **** things. We have no patience and try and force things that arent there.

Having said that we are running on fumes and are down to bare bones. Just gotta hope it doesnt get too outta hand before we get the cattle back.

Not that one player makes a side but kinda feel like this is what life without haas looks like. No one churning out 150m consistently each week. No one making the 1%ers. No one really holding anyone accountable.

Do I just cut and paste my ramble from last week with regards to our starts? What the **** are we doing? 3 errors inside the first 5 minutes. When’s it going to click? The new nrl is all momentum based. We put ourselves on the backfoot from the first sets of the game.

And if your Sunday night wasn’t fkd enough here’s a reminder
Is that real? Like I get the actual penalty count was real, but was that fox putting that up. Im guessing none of the commentators commented on it. Thats crazy and cant possibly be denied. Even if we are very ill disciplined, they were saints to this such high standard? Insane corruption. Send this to the media.

Did Madge blow up in the presser at all?
Not really but he's had a little crack. Said the following:
- some penalties/infringements were on us (alluding to the taking out the legs, hip drop) but he couldn't understand many of them. And while we need to get better at things, it goes both ways (insinuating that the ref needs to get better).
- said that the shift of how things are being adjudicated changes too dramatically between weeks.
- also criticised Reece not getting a penalty when being hit in the head

Reyno:
- tried to get clarity on penalties from the ref but couldn't really.

Yeah Wasn't it Kevvie who let Capewell go because he could only offer 2 seasons.
Useless prick let Walsh go and got lucky let Capewell go when we had no second rowers let Hoskings go but signed Goz, Jhunt and Fletcher Baker.
Kevvie didn't let Walsh go. Walsh took the $$ on offer. Same with the Capewell situation. Wahs had the $$ that we couldn't offer.

Take players the calibre of Payne Haas, Brendan Piakura and Corey Jensen out of any sides pack and they're going to struggle.

In a salary cap world you're depth is likely to be rookies or journeymen (at best) players. having one or maybe even two of the players filling in for the starters and you may be ok ... but any more than than and it will have a cascading effect through the pack, because it will also significantly weaken your bench

Completely agree, my concern is the gap in the difference between the starters and then the rest. Hass off next year, and who knows the future of Jensen. Its pretty worrying what runs out next season, we have guys like Hunt, Gos, Tawha and i will put Preston Riki into this too, they all offer very little.

Can we try front loading the opening set of the game? We get demolished in it every single match then before you know it we've been on the back foot for 20 minutes and it's basically game over.

As I said, we'd lose this game. Wasn't really surprising but I'm concerned with our attitude. It's fallen off. Maybe we are tired and just need a break?

Yes we are getting reamed by the refs lately but we have to find out why that is. What's changed? Our attitude definitely has so we can't completely blame the referees. We have to be better. There are no excuses.

The game after the bye will tell us everything. If we lose that then we're in big trouble.

Overall, we are in not that bad of a situation given the injuries.
When I looked at that 5 game stretch leading to the bye I thought 2 wins was decent. We got them at the start but a few more injuries too.

We now go, bye, Dragons, Titans. Im counting on 6 points there with our lack of Origin Reps plus unjury returns so make some ground there.
Barring more injury we should be back close to a full squad. Some of our young guys have had decent game time and gained valuable experience if needed again.
We strike Rabbits with Origin players out ( winnable) then Roosters full strength after a bye then Sharks origin affected but winnable.
Then Bye and Panthers and a decent run home. (Cows Knight Dolphins Warriors Raiders Storm Dogs)
I'm tipping 9 wins 4 losses and 34 points which is enough for top 8

Can blame the ref all you want but a Walsh error and two 7 tackle sets from Arey put us in the position we were. Possession then did the rest. We don't have the troops to defend that (probably don't even if all healthy). That first kick into the in goal from Reynolds not even Kyle Flanagan would do. That truly ****ed our momentum early on.

And Paix. In this six again era we absolutely, 100% NEED a 9 that runs. It's criminal that we don't. Like, come ON!!

The speed of the game now gives teams so many opportunities to run from dummy half and open the middle up. Then you could have Walsh and Mam running in support.....WHY AREN'T WE DOING THIS?!? (Injury to Mozer aside).
