Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2026

If Mozer isn't getting a contracted beyond 27, then I would have to assume it was always Paix vs Mozer. And Paix won out.

With Bukowski the ideal prospect.

We are also extending Rogers on one-year deal apparently. Which isn't bad at all, considering he will be cheap and can play 3 positions competently at depth level.

Would be good to steal Bishop-Neal.

We'd have more luck getting Cooper Bia than Neal if 'im honest, Warriors simply wont allow that to ahppen...
I would much rather a Jacob Preston than a 17 year old Bishop Neal anyway out on an edge anyway. Just need a hard running, work rate back rower. Need to start investing in high quality, week in week out repetive skillsets. CONEHEAD Duncan, Samuela Fainu, Kulikefu Fineufueiaki, Liam Martin, Jeremiah Nanai, Briton Nikora, Jacob Preston, Teig Wilton, Hudson Young. Thats a list of NRL, test footy and state of origin second rowers. It is an absolute must that one of them ends up at our club.

Biggest sliding door moment in recent Broncos history - shaking Areys hands after he comes of the GF ground and say "thanks for the premiership, but the club is now moving on"

And Pezet gets routed directly to us instead of the Eels for 2026.

I cant see where the next win comes from lads, honestly this club has basically checked out.

However, whether it is right or worng, our front office still believe we are in a premierhsip window.

Otherwise, why bring in Barnett, resign Walters & Hunt?

But are we just fooling oursleves here?

Pretty soon, the band-aid has to be fully ripped off - and you start again.
Why wouldn't we be in contention next year? We've had a cursed year with injury and fatigue due to no preseason, but at full strength next year we're easily a top 4 quality side.

Neal has way less competition for a starting 2rf spot at the Broncos + we're probably more likely to win another comp than the wahs in the immediate future.

A desperate side will pay Preston 800k+. He's great in attack, but kind of average outside of running a hard line imo. I'd still take him ofc (at the right price)

The Wahs are about to get a fairytale premiership so the NRL can justify a 2nd NZ team. Who wouldn’t want to be involved in that?

I'm sure there is NOTHING dodgy involved...

I mean credit where its due, Webster and the Warriors have got their systems firing, good on them. They've copied the Panthers model and have done it really well. They have stockpiled so much talent they should be contending for the next few years.

As much as I don't like our system, it jagged us a premiership and we have shown we can produce a steady stream of superstar calibre players, our issue though is we have nothing outside of this. I'd love to see us copy this aspect of the Panthers, Dolphins and Warriors.

If we want to be truly professional and elite, and we most certainly should be, this is the gaping hole in our strategy that needs fixing - have a stockpile of talent AND being able to hold on to them.

Preston is a bit one dimensional. What would be a fair price for him?

I'm not sure we could reproduce those pathways systems even if we wanted to.

The biggest advantage those clubs you mentioned (and pretty much every club not located in QLD) is that they have a genuine pathways to the NRL via their own teams in reserve grade (Host plus), colts etc.

We can't do that at this stage as the QRL won't allow us, the Cowboys or Titans to enter teams in the QLD cup competition.

Just wondering what exactly is our system noting it took us 19 years since 2006 to win another premiership and our depth this year is putrid?

Sign the biggest Queensland teenagers, have them hold us ransom to debut them at 18 and lock up a top 17 spot immediately or they’ll sign with another club. Rinse and repeat.

Of late it seems we're running a nursery for other clubs and an old peoples home for ourselves.

rock and a hard place.

if we don't sign these same kids (and play them in the top grade) then many fans start whinging

That is what really irks me. Warriors being greedy pigs have set up a camp/academy now in Logan. Run by the likes of Kevin Campion and Mark Tookey.

Do they really need to be setting up academies over here? They have the whole of New Zealand to select from. Now they are stealing off the Broncos table.

It seems pretty unfair when NRL is expanding that they can stockpile so many young guns. The NRL needs a draft system otherwise what's to stop the Warriors dominating league over the next 20 years? The same crap we used to complain about the Roosters buying premierships.

I looked at their NSW cup side for this weekend and its a joke. They are not even trying to win it. Just making kids fight it out to get a contract.

I give them their dues, they have about 10 top line players out in first grade and still sit 2nd on the table. Which shows the NRL that the depth and talent of player is there to keep expanding.

I guess what I am saying is, Warriors should hand over Bishop Neal to us - a team who will actually use him!!! I'd even accept any of Jacob Laban , Tanner Stowers-Smith or Demetric Vauimauga. Hell id even take a couple of guys yet to debut yet in Kayliss Fatialofa or Jason Salalio.

If they beat the dolphins this weekend I will vomit, Just sickening.

What greed pricks they are.

under this complaint ... then we shouldn't be able to spend the amount of time we do recruiting in NZ
