Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2026

I think the security of a three-year deal. He was a train and trial at the Storm then top 30 23-25. One year at the Broncos and then a three-year deal at the Warriors. Don't think he could say no. He's 27 so this is probably his last NRL deal.
You'd have thought the Broncos could of easily given him a 3 year deal.

When Anderson signed with the Warriors he played two games for the Broncos.

vs. Melbourne
vs. Dolphins

Against the Dolphins he played just over 20 minutes, so effectively he'd earn a two year extension based on one performance where he wasn't even close to the best player on the field.

He's supposedly set to earn $1.2 million over 3 years.

He's been one of the Broncos best during this difficult period but I don't think the Broncos should have competed with the offer. They could have told the Warriors to go kick rocks but they probably thought better of it after the Lomax drama with Melbourne.

If the Wahs can value him that highly why can't we?? They're stacked with depth in the position and can still see the value in Anderson.

So the Broncos should match every rival offer?

The Warriors centre stocks are ordinary. Anderson was not their first choice at the Broncos.

I hear all this complaining right now regarding Anderson heading to the Warriors, but the funny thing is that last year many people didn't even want him to come and were questioning why we would sign him at all. 🤔

I was one of them.

Because it isn’t just losing Anderson in isolation. You don’t think 12 months is a long time in rugby league?

If it was just Anderson, fine but we’ve also lost Arthars (he’s massively regressed but still needs to be replaced), Anderson and now likely Shibasaki. Mariner is no guarantee to come back as good as he was either.

So suddenly we have no depth in the backs and it’s already showing. Next year it’s going to be worse and all we’ve done is sign an old man who could hit the wall at any time. Our two kids we’ve exposed this year don’t look even close to being ready.

As things stand, gone Shibasaki is likely gone, Anderson suddenly became a very likely first team player next year.

This is compounded by re-signing a very past it looking Bunt, extending a very bust looking Piki for two years on top of three really poor looking recruitments in Talty, Gosiewski and Tawful.

Meanwhile we have Mariner, Willison, Jiki and Piakura all unsigned and about to hit free agency. All this on top of our entire forward pack signing with Souths.

It isn’t surprising people on here are questioning our willingness to let a solid first grader walk. We need to be more ruthless, he didn’t seem like he was agitating for a release and given he was already locked up next year, how did he even become gettable before October 31?

Perhaps Anderson also thinks he has a better opportunity in NZ.

Only way he's getting in our back line is through injury/suspension. He's probably more likely to find a spot in the Warriors back 5 than ours.

Absolutely this! I think 2027 will be a very tough year for the club based on they just seem to be sitting on their hands thinking things will just magically sort themselves out, unless there is lots going on in the background in trying to get players next year will be worse!

8 Jensen (aging player and who knows how he even comes back.
9 - Paix
10 - Barnett (and aging player)
11 - Riki (rocks and diamonds
12 - Piakura ( always worry he is 1 head knock away from retirement)
13 - Carrigan (when he is in he is great but he seems to be struggling)

Xavier (will be out elite going forward)
Talty
Semu?

Does the club not see this all as a worry?

They are all aging.

Not me but .

I can remember some grumbling about players who leave the Storm system not being as good after .

I was saying he`s a solid pro and a good back up .

Our R&R has seemed to lack proactiveness for decades now, it’s crazy. We are one of the most preferred destinations clubs in the world, how do we struggle to attract solid first graders so much?

If Talty is in our best 17 moving forward, we have issues.

Nope. We shouldn't be able let him negotiate to begin with. The club is too nice. We're a walk over.

I agree with that but the situation with Haas rocked the club. They couldn't afford to bungle the Barnett deal, so if the Warriors wanted a fringe first grade outside back have at it.

Anderson was not the Warriors first choice.

Who was their first choice? Shibasaki?

I wish these guys would actually need to back up these claims... they seem to get to just throw them about.
