Last night should be seen as inspiration.
Penrith missing Cleary, Fish and Sorensen is very similar to us with Walsh, Haas and Piakura. No excuses or negativity. Next man up mentality and they transitioned seamlessly and beat a better opponent than who we are facing.
If our aim is to be on the same pedestal as them, then our system should support the boys who are stepping in and let's get rid of all of the excuses.
This is our Derby to lose. Fire up!
If this signing is confirmed, then I'm a little scared that both our depth back rowers couldn't get into the Dragons rotation... but for the best balance to our side right now, I'd take experience over a rookie. Just get fully fit and wound up come August and beyond FFS!
Happy for Oates, as I said after the Rabbitohs game "he should be given the Hancock option". When Hancock was slowing down and didn't want to retire he turned himself into a quality forward sub and extended his career. Oates needs to seize this opportunity and just do the basics right. As Hancock did he needs to use his strengths as a strong running winger to bring a point of difference in attack.
This is going to be a hard game to win. We look light and our combinations and spine is...
Anyone else getting the feeling this is the year we overcome a bunch of adversity to sneak into the bottom half of the 8, get all our players back healthy, catch fire into the finals, go on a big run to knock off Penrith in the GF and become the first team ever to win from outside the top 4?
Remember this post when it happens.
