NRL Players and family members in hot water

What's Hayne's plan, to get sacked from the Titans so he can go absorb 50% of the Eels salary cap again and make them a bottom 4 side for the remainder of his career?

He was always known as a bad trainer. Hope they drop him to reserve grade for a few weeks to humble him, or force his hand to leave. He just comes across as a guy with a massive ego who loves the **** out of himself. Absolute flog for mine.

Kent was saying on 360 he goes and hides in the toilet block when he can't be stuffed doing hard training, and that the coaching staff had to lock the toilet block doors to stop it

If Kent told me it was raining outside, i would check for myself ... even if he had just walked through the door dripping wet :P

Being reported by foxsports Hayne approached the Roosters in the offseason but shotdown.

Maybe this isn't the thread for it, but has anyone heard about this shit involving Cartwright?

@1910 @Smokin' Joe @talanoa, please tell me this hasn't happened at our club?

Whatever it is, you need to have a source for it. Do you have one?

Yeah a few, probably should have included them as it seems like no one really wants to discuss it and it's no surprise not many journos are discussing it. It's a personal matter for sure but highlights how today's players are shielded from the outside pressures of real life. They almost have no idea on how to do things on their own and take responsibility for their actions.

Well yeah it's an incredibly awkward one isn't it.

Simmons also admitted to it in his confession in the paper which was highlighted on the Footy Show today as well.

I made a thread about it and the Hayne story.

Honestly, I think it's a bunch of sewer raking that doesn't do anything for the game and isn't anybody's business.

GALLEN'S BROTHER BANNED FOR TWO YEARS
By Rikki-Lee Arnold

FORMER CQ Capras forward Peter Gallen has been banned from rugby league for two years after testing positive to a banned substance.

ASADA added Gallen, younger brother of star Cronulla skipper Paul Gallen, to their banned list this morning after he last year tested positive to 3-dimethylpentylamine (methylhexaneamine) and 3-dimethylbutylamine, which can be found in over-the-counter dietary supplements.

It is understood the 26-year-old has accepted the ban.

Gallen was released by the Capras at the end of last year, with his ban dating back to June 5.

He will not be cleared to play again until June 4, 2018, right before his 28th birthday.

The QRL released a statement this morning to support ASADA's stance to remove banned substances from the Intrust Super Cup and other levels of the game.

"While it is disappointing to learn of this breach, we are pleased to share that we invest more than any other state sporting organisation in Queensland on our testing and education," the statement said.

"We will continue to work in with the NRL’s whole-of-game testing procedures and we make no apologies for having a rigorous program in place."

I wonder if he bought over the counter medication/dietary supplements or was it something more sinister. Might have been relatively benign and just buying something from Chemist Warehouse to keep fat down etc but then again it could be very sinister. Like to know a bit more because it's not a good look with the Sharks thing from six years ago still upsetting a few.

So is backdating bans now a thing? Seems ridiculous.

Mmm, I guess being banned from the game means being banned from when the game is actually played, you know Oct to Oct. I don't know, just guessing any ban would be that although I'm not sure what happened with the Sharks ban, where it started and finished like.
