Seriously..? He's had like 3 weeks man. He's going pretty good! How many times has he stuffed a set or had a having error?? He's scored a try and his kicking game has actually been pretty decent.
Was more impressed with how Milford went last night taking control of the team. Great kicking game. This game management. * in the first half! Second half he adopted a protective mentality which isn't smart. Really errks me tbh. We have a stellar back line and we stop trying to score?? What is with that.
Still.. First half was phenomenal. He could make a good 7 yet. Therefore kodi to 6

I am impressed with how Kodi's done so far. He has improved each game he has played in. Its not all doom and gloom when Hunt leaves next year. We might have found a capable replacement
 
Kodi went missing a little in the second half last night but I don't think it was a coincidence it coincided with the refs going all leg uppy for the Panthers.

The thing I really like about Kodi is his calmness and composure. Last week he stood around too much but rectified that this week, so he is a fast learner. It's his third week in the role and was looking phenomenal in that first half.

If he can do that after three weeks in the role, he is absolutely worth taking the punt on next season!!

They all went missing. Lack of leadership in that second half

I'd say we will just run with KNic or Bird for next year and see what happens. Kodi is probably showing enough that he can fill the role if we need to wait until the right player comes available.

I'd say we are out of options for 2018. no one else on the market really worth chasing.

we should run with a Milf/Nikorima halves pairing for 2018 before going to the market if we need to for the 2019 season
 
I'm more than happy to promote from within. We've been recruiting like crazy the last couple years (some exceptional buys however) but it does cost on the cap a slightly higher amount to pull talent usually from other clubs.
 
If we think about how bennett has recruited in the last couple of years you'll notice what an awesome player of the stock market he really is. Buys stock he knows were once very high but have now gone really cold. He's so confident in his management ability that he'll be able to at least improve their performance back above their current lows.

Notable recruitments:

Barba out Boyd in.
Hennant out Blair in.

Hodges retirement
Reed retirement
Parker retirement.

Copley out Roberts in.
Maranta out Mead in.

TPJ in. Essesse in. (parker)

Wallace out Sims in.

Moga in. (hodges and reed)

Benji in. (will list this because of the value he still brings even as an off field leader)

Notable upgrades. Huge improvements to the roster. Only bad call in hindsight was Taylor but it was in no way forseen hunt to get lured away on such massive coin and it was understood Taylor would possibly be back in a couple of years time. If it wasn't for the elgey ACL, probably would have been.
 
I don't agree Knik has done enough....yet. I do think he is well on his way to achieving that though. I want to see how he performs after getting the wraps (like last night from his teammates) and he gets targetted by the coaches. He hasn't been a high priority in opposing coaches minds as the new kid, rather they have concentrated on terrorising Milf knowing he is the go to man. Now they will be totally focused on shutting both down and if Kodi does the business then I'm all for forgetting about the player market.

He is going well though...

100%... I think kodi has been quite good in the halves. His defence was found out a bit against the panthers however most teams won't be playing the hot potato football.

It should also be noted that panthers ran it on the last pretty much every set in the last 15-20 mins of the game, which puts huge pressure on the outside men to either go back for a kick or stay up in the defence
 
Kodi will make a great half back..just needs time..
 
Kodi will never make a halfback imo. He is a hooker.
