Nothing more illustrates what I was talking about than Milford's game tonight. He isn't a 7 and will never be one. Trying to turn him into one is wrecking his game completely.

Exactly. Wayne gift wrapped him to the bloody titans. The titans.. there's no way a team like that will ever let ash go. It's just absolute horse crap when Wayne sells it as he didn't want to hold ash back. He fucked up.

He's playing with an arm he can't lift past head height, we won't see the best of him till next season after his surgery. It may not affect his feet but it will affect his head (eg motivation to take the line on and take a hit), his long distance passes, and his tackling. Not saying he is a number 7 for sure, but it's not fair to judge him on this season when he has produced amazing seasons the previous 2 when injury free...

Hunt was killing it we were having one of our best years no one could have known what happened in that grand final, if we won that GF he could have gone on to be our second best halfback

Maybe Milf should just do all the kicking and just sniff around in support so he has to do less tackle busting to make his signature runs. I know he's not that much better than Hunt in the kicking, but Hunt just needs to run and that's it. Run and pass.

That's why I think he may rediscover something (although I wont hold my breath) if he goes to hooker. He will have no choice but to do one of the 2. I did think nikorima to halfback in his place but on second thoughts I actually think Marshall. Niko won't have the confidence to over call hunt, Marshall will tell that Pearce-at-origin-level-like number 7 where to go if he gets in the way

There's some on here saying milf has sooo much potential but his development is being curtailed by trying to move him away from his running game.... but if a guy only has a running game does he really have much potential???
There's been plenty of guys with a great running game (just look at every young half coming through), but if milf has no further progress to make than his running game then why the **** did we pin our future on him for the next 4 years.
To me milf does have the potential to become a lethal halfback, which was on display when playing with knik (do you think he wasn't the controlling half when we were smashing teams back then??).
At the moment I believe Bennett just needs to give the reigns to milf... everything to milf including general play kicking. When milf was playing with knik he was popping up in the middle of the field and over to the right he had free reign and was killing it.
