Matt Cecchin

I couldn't blame Sleeman for that call. No mortal man could have grounded that ball...

Yeah it was a tough call, Cheatchin was just using that to his advantage to try and arsehole us out of a try

Edit: actually on review, it looked pretty straightforward, Oates has orange boots and she had a clear view from behind. I'm curious as to what she said to him. I'm hoping it was 'looked ok, check to see if he went in touch' and Cheatchin took that as 'he's out, first call no try'

I was sitting in the corner where Oates scored. Sleeman wasn't sure he was in, I wasn't sure he was in either.

It wasn't the closest effort we've seen with those sort of tries but with lots of arms and legs in motion, it can be hard to make a definite call so I'd give her the benefit of the doubt.

Cheatchin is hopless though.

My lip reading skills could need a lot of work but I am positive she mouthed the words I have a try.

She says "no try"...have watched the replay repeatedly.

She has a clanger in nearly every game. Pretty sure that it was her who got us for the forward pass against the roosters (which cost Hunt a dead set try)....

She had an obstructed view and what she said is in question, hardly a clanger. At least she saw something, unlike most officials in the game.

This is a pretty clear view to me. She wasn't telling him to check the grounding, she was telling him to check the sideline. If she did think it was a no try, she thought he was out.

Either way, they are trained for these moments. She shouldn't be a touch judge if she couldn't see that was in even at normal speed.

But that's still not the view she had. The dragons player(Tariq?) and Corey's other boot was still inbetween her and what she was looking for. I'm not sure if they were in her way. Fact is in real time I didn't know, none of the people I was watching with knew, and the commentators certainly didn't know. Anyone can look at a still shot and call her an idiot.

She still would have had a clear and unobstructed view with the distance she was standing back and she was looking directly at it.

Question marks on whether she actually thought he was out or not but if she did, she isn't very good at her job. There are a heap of touchies out there that can see whether a player is in or not with a worse view.

I am all for quality officials regardless of gender but just like her male counterparts need to be accountable. There are likely worse nrl touchies but she seems to have a negative impact on standards as often as not. Do not want either of her or Cheatchin anywhere near a finals match (but could that about vast majority of officials too).

EDIT: Sexist comment

No, that was Chris Butler and Rickey MacFarlane.

What other incidents do you have?

Don't take it personally guys - I watch many of the other games and he screws up plenty of calls in every game he referees...

He has been out of form for a few months but I still think he is clearly the best out of all of em.
