Australia v England 'Gabba Test

Bancroft gone, it's only early days for him but if he fails again where does that leave the selectors?

How many failures do they give him before they try the next guy who happens to score a few in the lead up to a test.

I would suggest a maximum of 6 innings seeing as that was how many Renshaw got.

At the very least Renshaw was knocking the shine off the ball most of the time
 
Usman gone aswell , hes just as bad as marsh , how many chances will he get

Doesn’t help our batting when they come out with pressure on them to perform by our own selectors

Good batting atm from Smith & Marsh, really need them both not out at stumps.
 
Handscomb or Paine would be the likely candidates for a dropping if the Renshaw precedent is applied. I really, really dislike Marsh, but he ain't getting dropped after today.

Today was a win for great planning.

Bayliss and Bond showed great planning minds.

- Khawaja came on- Ali came on and they were around the bat like it was India. Here's a stat for you- Khawaja has now got out in Test cricket to spin 46% of the time. The Australia average since 2000 21%. He's 25% above.

- Smith loves the leg side, they had five men on the leg side letting him have his strength- They were tempting him to go too many times and stuff it.

- Handscomb was the great piece I loved- Anderson forced him back with four balls- Handscomb's natural reaction is back and he loves it. Plays deep and off his back foot. Then Anderson bowls full so he has to come forward and Handscomb is clunky and caught.

- Lyon has been awesome.

Then Marsh and Smith fight back and now it's back to a contest.

Maxwell should be in the team. Australia needs to pick the most talented players and he is one of them.
 
I think Australia just need to stick with the team we have. At the least give everyone 2 tests
 
Maxwell really shouldn’t have been dropped. Huge statement from him. Handscomb will be under pressure.
