We had all three of those guys this year. Three Props isn’t enough to get you through a game, let alone a season. If we don’t replace Sims and Thaiday with some decent quality replacements we are going to find 2019 even tougher going than 2018.

Our 'tough goings' haven't really been due to our forwards though - we've competed more often than not. Sims and Thaiday are ready to be replaced - backing up their replacements will be crucial though, but I think we are looking good as far as front row/back row goes.

We only have three Props who’ve played any real NRL before (Lodge, TPJ and Ofa) and realistically two of those guys are in their first real season of regular NRL football, and this is in a position that generally always favours more experienced and proven footballers.

Don’t mistake me, I rate all three as huge talents, but it’s still early days in their careers and the lack of depth with NRL experience for the guys behind them has the potential to be a very real problem for us if not addressed.

Sorry to see him go but it's probably the best move for all parties. Korbin's a little too good to be playing QCup and with everybody fit that's probably where he'd be by the back end of next year. We do need to replace him with somebody with a bit of experience for injury cover though, just somebody a bit cheaper and happy to take 100k.

Possibly. I think we have the depth to fill out the front/back row as required. Lodge has been solid, Ofa is Origin ready imo. TPJ is a front line talent as of next year imo.
 
Good result for everyone except perhaps Dragons but who cares about that. For minimum wage was fine beyond that its overs. And takes a spot for someone who can at least learn to consistently contribute.

Offers nothing in attack. Defence is good at times then others waves them by. Frustrates the f*** out of me could be a good player. Once a month or so he plays a good or semi decent game then is useless for next few games. He has the talent but doesn’t put it together consistently for whatever reason.

Since St George’s number 1 recruitment move is now paying overs for post prime broncos may I suggest we offer them Macca and Boyd with a Widdop and McInnes swap deal? Willing to offer a bird as a sweetener...
