Round 1 Discussion

Tipped 3 from 8 this week. Stink. Butt.

Well Edwards CLEARLY touched that ball, that should have been a knock on. No excuse for the video ref to get it wrong but here we are, welcome to season insert year here, no improvement in refereeing at all.

Clearly ouched it? I'm not so sure about that.

The reverse angle doesn't support that. It shows Edwards knocking the hand of Jennings into the ball and the hand of Jennings being in the way the whole time. I also found it interesting there wasn't a protest. That's a bit of a giveaway. Either way, the on-field ruling of try, they couldn't overturn that one. There wasn't really enough to overturn it. One angle suggested Edwards touched it, others did not. In that situation the default ruling is what the on-field ruling is.

Every angle shows Edwards touched the ball (and probably Jennings’ hand. He touched the ball with enough force to push it IN TOWARDS Jennings so he could actually catch it. One angle isn’t as clear but still pretty clear if you are looking for it and the rest are fairly blatantly obvious. Let’s agree to disagree on this one.
